Welcome! Here’s how to learn Fusion 360 in 20 hours and what you can expect.
WATCH NEXT:- 1st of 16 Basic Tutorials:- • Learn Fusion 360 in a ...
There are good reasons to learn CAD, especially 3D mechanical CAD. The world is changing and its not just a draftsman who needs to know CAD. Everyone in a manufacturing or engineering company either creates or works on the CAD model. Even inventors who may work alone can make good use of a lot of the features of Fusion 360. The price is right with a free Personal Use license available.
The 16 Basic Tutorials will get you started and able to make the common prismatic parts that most engineered items are made of. You’ll probably be able to make similar parts then by yourself. After the 16 basic tutorials it will take up to a year to transition from click-by-click tutorials to flying solo in Fusion 360. The intermediate playlist will help to get you there.

I can recommend doing these 16 fusion 360 exercises, taught me quite a bit. Make sure your Fusion 360 is updated.

I've just completed the 16 tutorials and they were fabulous. Arnold, thank you for doing this. I am an almost retired veterinarian and I am learning a new skill just for fun. You have come along at just the right time for me. Many thanks!

Fantastic Holly, and what a great choice you've made! Will you 3D print your models?

@@ArnoldRowntreeTeachesFusion360 Well, that's the plan. I bought a Prusa Mini last spring to fool around with and see what 3D printing was all about. So far I've just been printing models from Thingiverse. I am interested in modelling myself, nothing too complicated though; perhaps some solutions to problems I encounter from time to time. I must say Arnold, I really did enjoy your videos. I enjoy your style of teaching and the humour you inject from time to time. I am looking forward to your future videos. Can I ask you what mouse you recommend? I am using a MacBook pro and a magic mouse. It's ok but I find it cumbersome when moving and rotating the models. Again....many thanks!

@@htillotson1 Thanks for sharing Holly. All the best for your Prusa adventures. I'm mystified by all things Mac I'm afraid. All I know is the 3 button style. My son gave me a MS surface arc mouse for my new Chromebook but that's another direction entirely. I'm looking forward to sharing some nifty content for 3D printing not too long from now.

I'm glad to hear the tutorials are doing the trick. I need to get a new mouse myself. I don't look for any particular brand, just a three button mouse with laser tracking, not too small of your hands are large, hopefully you'll be using it for hours at a stretch.

Fantastic T! I want one myself. I can get you going with Fusion 360 but you'll need to go way beyond the scope of this channel. I haven't looked too closely yet but from what I've seen I like the looks of 'Titans of CNC academy'.

I certainly am B but there's a lot to get done in the meantime. Also its going to be starting with basic fundamentals and building from there. You'll probably be finding some of the other great resources out there by then such as "Titans of CNC" Do yourself a favour and have a look here; titansofcnc.com/

My only issue is finding the basic tutorials. I've gone through 1 through 6. Haven't found the videos for 7 and 8 but have generated the drawings myself. Where can I find a list of the 16 and be able to choose the next one in sequence?

John, I wish I could help, but you're more advanced in Fusion's CAM than me. I'll be getting my first CNC router when I've saved up a bit more and I'll be looking for a rank beginners 101 tutorial. I need to get some CAM content on this channel but it'll probably have to be by way of a collaboration.

Not quite sure how to contact you.Following your reply to my request for help. My question is on 360 forum and had award for new thread but no help so far. I’m testing the feasibility of making a 3D printed model of a 7.25 engine I built and sold some years ago. The problem is two fold. The imported dxf drawings have no constraints and every thing floats. I’m testing the ability of 3D printer to reproduce rivet heads. 2mm diameter. Extruding and filleting was a mess. Possibly smaller nozzle? The printer going round and round each rivet was the problem. So, I raised a dome with the loft command so that the printer will pass over printing straight lines. SO, how to reproduce dozens in rows at the same time?
@ArnoldRowntreeTeachesFusion360
@ArnoldRowntreeTeachesFusion360 Жыл бұрын
Colin, here's my website, use the Contact page to write me. bit.ly/3rVBlzg That sounds frustrating about the floating DXF lines and I don't know all the complexity you face but if you were to work through the 16 basic tutorials you'd know how to constrain things. Importing and exporting to and from engineering software programs is never straight-forward. You often have to deal with a few issues. I'm a beginner with my 3D printer, so I won't pretend to give you advice on that side of it but as far as producing patterns in Fusion 360, I cover the very basics of the pattern tool in tutorials 15 and 16.
