Guess you've never seen a typical athlete or artist endorsement contract then. Not all are super strict, but doing anything that could be construed as promoting a competitors product is usually frowned upon. Ever seen a RedBull athlete in public with a Monster can in their hand, branding on their bike/car/skis/insert anything else appropriate, logo on their hat? TP was just making sure he was doing the right thing by his sponsor. It just so happens that his sponsors are not your typical guys and let him have some fun, even though a competitors' branding is on the car.
