The crew is back at @midamericaoutdoors for Travis Pastrana's final progression session along side Banks Hovey. As Travis awaits a full knee replacement in the coming days, he has decided to check one last item off his bucket list. Travis' goal is to back flip onto an elevated platform, do a nose bonk, then front flip out of the nose bonk back to his wheels. Banks plans to jump onto the platform, wheelie across, and backflip off. Both of these tricks have never been attempted, so come along for the ride as Nate Wessel and Hubert Rowland help Travis and Banks work through multiple ramp variations, distance measurements, platform angles, and injuries in an attempt to reach their goals.

I just got my knee replacement. Wish I could have taken this to a landing but I hope you all enjoy my final send on a trick that I’ve been wanting to try since the day I watched a video of Kai Haase blew my mind with the nose bonk front flip at Masters of dirt.

Travis I'm 31 and have been watching you since you were racing Supercross on 125s. You've been a hero to me since, and have been one of the very few people I've ever looked up to. Thank you so much for being you and giving action sports so much. I'll never forget a quote you said many years ago, and have lived my whole life based on it... And rebuilt even better. The man separated his spine from his pelvis and took a few moths off and was back at it. Everyone else who has had that injury with the expiation of 2 or 3 Travis included have died or now live live from a chair! So do I think a new knee will slow him down?... Not but a month or two tops. I had my hip replaced at 46 and it was new lease on life. I wish him the same.

You can fluke anything. Many pro riders have them. His name is Travis Pastrana adding swear words in the middle doesn’t make it any better or do anything. You’d be surprised what a human can do with a set up sponsors and the relevant tools! Anyone with enough time to dedicate to stunts can do this. Those who push the sport do it as their job and get to spend all their time on the bikes. Yea he’s a legend just he is also just a man having fun on a bike. With the adrenaline running and we pop off something you’d be surprised what’s gotten away with. I’ve crashed before and stayed on the bike after doing what looks like a stunt, I was just holding on. Do you know how many attempts or takes to practice these stunts? Any trick done first time is a fluke that’s just how it is. People are just too full of hype now days.
@didgecat2708
@didgecat2708 4 ай бұрын
A fluke is something done first time with no practice wether spoken of or not is not the point. A fluke is an unlikely chance of occurrence, especially a surprising piece of luck, so to pull a trick like that first go with no practice is a fluke. I’m sure if I had his back ground I could pull off a lot of stunts just I don’t I don’t have a motor x cycle or a compound or the money or sponsors, see with all that he is a business and it’s how he makes money so you’d expect him to be pushing the sport and trying new things. Makes me laugh when people think a person is just not human when anyone put on a bike from a young age and is given inspiration and freedom to Will progress in the sport so much more than someone riding at the weekend. At 14 he won the World Freestyle Motocross Championship, do we even consider what it takes to do that as in team bike and such it’s not just one person riding a bike, he has been supported all his life and made a profession out of it. He even said when after he rode out of it, he said that because even he was surprised he made it… to put it short he’s an 80’s kid he don’t mind falling. Ive won bike races with a broken hand, broken collar bone, broken heal, broken fingers, surprising what we can do when just go for it have fun and send it.

im 33 and i been watching you my whole life, getting old sucks lol, i broke my back last year and boy do you not bounce back like when your young lol, you have balls of steel sir and you have always had the best attitude, always just wanting to have fun with the boys and bring everyone up with you, not trying to get one over on people being sneaky, just letting pure talent drive the train, my hats off to you for all you have done for this sport

Oh man wait until you are 51 lol.. I broke my back when I was 15 launching a YZ250 like a Saturn 5 rocket and it landed right on top of me and snapped me like a twig. But I went on to riding for a few more years then went to skating and became a professional at that until finally my body couldn't do it anymore. Had major back surgery in 2010 to fix what they didn't fix when I was a kid and they ended up messing me up even worse and now I'm disabled from all of it. But it was a helluva ride and lots of fun to this point. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. But I absolutely agree with you getting old sucks! Lol

@@RosinGoblin dang brother, I hope you don't have too many more of them lined up, I'm so glad I didnt need surgery, I think I'm really lucky I'm light, at 55kg I think roughly 120lbs or something, I would have hit the truck a lot harder if I was heavier. Either way it sucks getting hurt when it's your own fault, it sucks way worse when it's because of someone else's stupidity or rushing for no reason. I tell you one thing, it made me calm my farm a whole lot in a car now too lol never taking any risks .. it's amazing how some people it can get in your head and others it seems to not affect at all. I hope it doesn't cause you too many ongoing issues brother, take care

Yep. I can confirm things take longer to heal once you've hit your 50's. The problem is the brain still thinks you're young and forgets your age until you've broken something again. 🙄 Hope you all take care and stay safe 🙏 We definitely don't bounce like we used to.

Travis - thanks for taking us on this ride. I've followed you since your first X Games, and you've shown everyone what a class act you are, while elevating several sports beyond measure. No need for theatrics, just authenticity. And you never shied away from showing us the damage, but you shielded us from the pain. Laughed in the face of it, reminding us all that if you want something badly enough, you can overcome things as trivial as a broken hand (!!!!) or worse. You're my hero, there's no other word for it. But as someone only 2 years younger than yourself, I get it. It's ok to move onto other things, especially for your health and your family. Thanks for the ride of a lifetime Travis, it's been a privilege to watch you ride (and drive, and skydive and well, all of it). #199lives *cue Foo Fighters "My Hero".

Wessel is one of the greats from late 90s/early 2000s bmx. The one trick he did that I'll never forget is in Road Fools 7 or 8 when he gaps out of a bowl at Kona skatepark and lands on the roof of a pavilion. It looks like it's 25 feet off of the ground, i swear. Look it up if you haven't seen it. It's still so crazy all of these years later.

Absolute legend of my childhood. Thank you for doing things that continue to "push the envelope." You are unstoppable, coming from someone with a great amount of hardware in my left leg and multiple knee and shoulder surgeries and done far less than you. Keep pushing, send the set of your ideas unfinished as new ideas to the Nitro Crew

Travis, it’s good to see you start taking care of yourself. You have done more than any other person to advance and change extreme sports. You’re a living legend. The baddest man on the planet. There will never, can never, be someone that goes down In History like you, The godfather of them all. evil Knievel didn’t accomplish in his career what you have accomplished in weekends. He walked so you could run, but not a soul on earth is even close to comparable

Travis, you’ve been my hero since I was a little kid. I remember laying in bed watching the double backflip during xgames at 12 years old and crying I was so blown away. I got to meet you at unadilla a few years ago and I got a picture with you that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. My addiction to powersports is all because of you and now it’s passed on to my children. You are an inspiration to millions of people and even if this is your final send, you’ll always be a household name in my family. Thank you for making my childhood great and giving me the motivation to do the same for my kids.

Travis Pastrana is my effin' hero. He's the guy that I wanted to grow up and be like whenever I was a kid. He's the one who seemed to make it by following his dreams and never giving up, Even in the face of tremendous adversity. His efforts were and to this day remain unyielding. There's something beautiful in that. He was exactly who I wanted to grow up and be like when I was his age. Folks, I'm 36 years old this morning and yet I'm still one of his biggest fans! 🟥🐂 🏍️🤘🏻🏁🏎️
