Probably better to point the finger at house price increases relative to incomes, the slowdown in building of affordable housing since 2015 and the imprudent/predatory lending of banks. Most of this is a legacy of the finance led growth model since 1980s.

It's time there was a household wealth cap for political candidates and MPs set at £10 million to include property, investments and trusts. Political candidates and MPs with wealth above the wealth cap would cease to be eligible to become or remain as MPs. A household wealth cap for political candidates and MPs would mean MPs would better represent the majority of constitutents and reduce political oligarchy. MPs with ownership of multiple properties and those MPs eho are landlords should bd banned from voting on housing related issues due to conflict of interest.
