My tips 1.) give yourself a time limit “Work expands to give the time given to it”.. 2.) figure out the dead times ie when files are transferring, rendering or exporting to do other things.. I transfer or render then go do groceries if it is a sunday.. while exporting I do the thumbnail and description.. or while on the train to work..

Thanks Michelle for those tips 😁❤️ What works for me is making a list of video ideas that I try put in an editorial calendar. Then I write notes on whichever topic I'm most excited about at any moment. So when I'm filming, my enthusiasm comes through 😊

I normally do 3 videos in a batch. I write the scripts the day before, film and edit in the morning and upload in the afternoon. Prefer to do most of these things in a single day to keep my motivation high.

Yess, filming a handful of videos together is SO incredibly helpful!!🙌🏻🙌🏻 I’m a busy mama and I don’t have much time to get everything ready and film + when my hubby can watch the babes so this tip is crucial for me.👏🏻💕

Ugh, I hear so many people talking about batch filming/writing/editing but I just don't feel like I have the willpower to do one thing for that long :'))

Ellie Dee My problem with batch filming is that by the time I get to editing the 2nd video I feel like I can do a better job if I redo it or scrap it altogether. Although I’m not the most consistent person I find that it really helps to schedule out your weeks and always be at least one video ahead.
@emilyalexandra94247 жыл бұрын
(Shia LaBeouf voice) YOU CAN DO ITTTTTTTT!!! But seriously though, gradually start it. Maybe film two videos on the same day and two videos two days later and slowly increase. Don't stress yourself too much though. Believe in yourself!!! I believe in you stranger!!

My challenge is balance. Sometimes filming can take me 3-4+ hours, since I do local travel, so if I do even two short shoots in a day I get home and crash. I'm hoping to get to the point where I can keep going after a nap!

I post one video on a random day of the week, every week, that's because I get busy and I'm at college full time but I hope this isn't a problem when it comes to getting views Xoxo This video helped a lot and motivates me to be productive but keep it ideal to myself so I don't stress out to post a video.

I've done some batch filming, but I often take too long with editing to be able to batch edit well. I think I have the hardest time with the script writing part of it, for the videos that need that sort of thing. Once I get going I enjoy it, but if it's a video with lots of B-roll I tend to slack for a while before jumping in just because the thought of it overwhelms me a bit to begin. Why does voiceover intimidate me so much compared to talking to the camera? I've uploaded 114 videos to my channel and it's still such a process sometimes. 😂 I think a template for script writing will help! Thanks for sharing!! I also agree that Facebook is a waste of time for the most part. I've decided to just post my insta pics and natively upload Facebook friendly videos with links to full blog posts with KZbin videos embedded in those posts.

I'm the opposite - I love working through B-roll, but voiced/on camera stuff takes me forever! (I suspect we're doing widely different filming styles?) Though I totally hear you on voiceovers! They feel so weird! I go with talking points instead of a script - and singing/being super silly after I hit record, just for ~30 seconds. Anything that gets me to the right energy level. (Not gonna lie, I have a collection of super hyper anime and Hatsune Miku music for this.) I wonder if it could help you too?
@ABeautifulHorizonTV7 жыл бұрын
I like the idea of being silly for 30 seconds before starting! I'll try that! Thank you!!

Voiceovers are my jam. It definitely helps to warm up like Seattle Dessert Geek does. I’m a KZbin baby though lol so it’s probably from not having the pressure of being on camera that voice overs are easier for me.

I think things like Facebook and blog post are completely dependant on your niche. I'm in the middle of going in a different direction on my channel (so its now blank bc i needed a blank slate), but bc my niche is info based- my fb has gotten and continue to generate a lot of likes. But if i was more of a lifestyle vlogger i don't think it would be the same reaction.

When batch filming, do you change clothes for different videos?
@emilyalexandra94247 жыл бұрын
I typically do because it is very noticeable if you do not. But you could always film from the hips or waist up so all people would really notice is your shirt. That way you don't have to change your whole outfit.

Do you have a video dealing with negative comments on your videos? I made a short rant video on my channel about the Rick and Morty Szechuan sauce and I had people being really rude and disliking the video. I did have some positive feedback though and just decided to to delete the rude comments to not give them any attention. Was that appropriate?
