Great from Russia from orthodox mans) I learn byzantic and russian znameny chants. The byzantics psalts use the hand-hit by table (for example) Its userful for rhythmic understanding. And they use paralagy (fa-sol-la...ga-di-ke) it realy good for study process. Thebks a lot With best wishes❤

It was very useful. Thank you. I’ve been trying to find a good course of Gregorian chant because I didn’t know how to even read it. With the help of your vídeo, in less than one hour I cannot only read, but even sing the notes! Please continue making such useful content. It will be good if you can make repetitive notes (if you can sing it at least 4 times, you know, for muscle memory)

Thanks this is very helpful. One other thing I would like to understand are the different modes of chant (1-8). I see them, but wonder how they make the notes sound any different.

The big key to the modes is understanding where "do" and "fa" are in the mode, right below these pitches is a semi tone. Re mi^fa sol la ti^do re is going to sound differand than Sol la ti^Do re mi^fa sol. Obviously when "ti" is fkat there is a semitone between la^ti (te or ta as others call it) If you sing chant, you will hear the qualities of each mode.

You should not be using vibrato. No, not at all, if one can help it. You should be stressing this in your videos.
