For anyone who's raising something like a Sonic or Shadow Chao that needs a "second evolution" to make it look just right, keep in mind that age is also a factor in your Chao's appearance. If you evolve your Dark-type Chao into a Run-type and then immediately load it up with green Chaos drives, it's not going to go red like Shadow. It'll still have the cyan stripes until it gets older. I usually wait until it's gone through breeding season at least once before trying to make it more like the character. To make the Shadow Chao easier, you can also just raise a two-toned red Chao. It'll have the red stripes by default.

Thank you for this information. Before my shadow chao even evolved for the first time, i rushed it to 99 running, after evolution i tried giving it more running and saw now changed, this continued even when i gave it a ton of flying/swimming and it still didnt change, i thought it was a conflict in some of the mods.

@@sonicblaster1000 Do you mean a two-toned blue and black Chao? If you do, start by breeding a dark blue Chao (eggs can be bought at the Black Market in the kindergarten) with a regular Chao. It might take a few tries, but you’ll get a two-toned blue Chao. Then, raise it like you would a regular Shadow Chao--dark alignment, speed-type, then keep raising its speed gradually over its lifetime.

There is a guide on the Chao Island website, I didn't cover it here since it is quite involved and would take up the majority of the video. I believe that you need a gameboy link cable and a gameboy advance aswell to get the tails chao. It is a lot of work.

Not that much work, but you need Sonic Advance with Tiny Chao Garden and the mentioned GBA and cable. In game if I remember correct you need may 30 min gameplay to get a specific mission. After it, you can download the chao in the TCG (with putting the cable in the third controller slot for some reason 😅)

No. It’ll change. If you give it swim or Fly it’ll be a run+swim or run+fly. If you give it just power it’ll turn to a regular run then give it more power it’ll be a run/power. It’s confusing but swim and fly can’t be hybrids neither can run and power. They cancel each other out.

You forgot the Flicky Chao from Hero Flying. I don't blame you for forgetting the random birds & technically Spartoi was a famous chao from Sonic Chronicles that wasn't something you could just make in Adventure 2. I hope more stuff gets made for chao like you said. We could use Cream, Blaze, & Silver Chao. I wonder if Miku Chao exists yet? I never kept up with the mods & it's a cool funfact that Yellow Shadow Android chao existed 4 Years before it did. Something cool I expected from the modding community was new types of Chao Balls like a flower. I actually remember the rumors that Sonic Heroes would add 2 New Types of Chao from 20 Years Ago with Rose Chao being leaked with an Amy Chao with a flower ball. I miss my childhood so much these days!

If you're willing to put in the effort you can transfer save data between PC and GC chao data if you're willing to edit the hexadecimal code. I did this about 10 years ago and I have a Knuckles, Tails, and Amy chao in my GC memory card. You will need a homebrew wii to do this but it's possible! Edit: of if you're not crazy like me who wants it on console you should just play the PC version!

The ones that require mods require the steam version, but the ones that don’t can be got normally (except knuckles and Amy, who you can technically get but are likely too hard to find) Some of the colors (like shiny two tones) got messed up in the steam port. There’s mods like Chao World extended that fix them.

Great video explaining on the character chao, Choa! Been wanting to reset raising Chao recently and have decided to start in SADX and SA2B (US and JP saves) from scratch. It was relatively easy to get the demo disc, which I get my hands on 3 character Chao on my JP save of SA2B. I do have some questions though. Are the character Chao considered Chaos Chao? For the Tails Chao in Phantasy Star Online for the Gamecube, is it just the Plus version that you can get the Tails Chao, or any version of Episode1&2? Was just curious about this as I know the Plus version does sell for far more than the vanilla Episode1&2. Chao KZbin channels like yours and SapphireChao has brought a renewed interest in Chao raising for me. I'll definitely check more of your videos when I need to know something about Chao.

The website Chao island might be of help. It contains information about Chao, raising, animals, obtaining the character chao, tiny chao garden, and such. It even has some tools for modifying Chao's on DC, GC, and PC (funny how those kinda rhyme lol).

I had the idea that Chaos Chao who are types end up evolving as Character Chao in a new Chao Garden. Hero/Fly = Cream or Silver Hero/Run = Blaze Neutral/Swim = Big Neutral/Fly = Tails Neutral/Run = Sonic Neutral/Power = Knuckles Neutral/Normal = Amy Dark/Swim = Vector(?) Dark/Fly = Rouge Dark/Run = Shadow Dark/Power = Omega Not sure how that would impact Neutral/Run, Dark/Run, Neutral/Fly and Dark/Fly's appearance changes, though, since they are based off of characters.
