Mike Rotondo it refers to an episode of Rick and Morty. Rick briefly reunites with an ex partner. Said partner is a hive mind entity that has taken over a planet - i.e every living thing she has assimilated, she is them at the same time and can assume their forms, named Unity. They go on a crazy drug and sex rampage, Unity pushes back an important meeting and the world she has assimilated begins to crumble because of course she IS all these people, so now surgeons and pilots are all as intoxicated as she is. Unity realised that while she loves Rick she now sees he is a threat to the growth, goals, accomplishments and personal development she set herself with since their split and she can now see that their relationship is toxic and co-dependent and leaves because he’s not good for her, via letter left in the world that Rick collects, suddenly alone. Rick, secretly distraught, returns to his family, excuses himself and heads to the garage. This song plays while we see him drinking and setting up a device. It fits perfectly, a rare somber moment in the show (at the time). He unfreezes a creature that appears to be in agony, he comforts it and then destroys the creature with this device that shoots red lasers. He then goes to do the same to himself - commit suicide - placing his head where the creature was moments ago but at the last second his head falls to the table. We are unsure if he dropped his head on purpose or if he passed out drunk. There he lays until morning, unnoticed in the garage, with his son-in-law out front weeding. If you have seen it I am so sorry for the episode guide lol

I love this drummer. The entire family seems beyond intuitive with their musicality. Switching back and forth between open handed time on the hi-hat with the left hand, and then to keeping time on the right with the right hand... it's so simple in sound, but a sign of time spent behind the kit.

Really mature playing on the drums. So simple but there’s so many little fills and accents. None of them are repeated, there’s a unique one every time. There’s great dynamics, she knows when to get louder and quieter, and when to build intensity with different fills. I don’t know anything about piano but it’s sounds good to me also. And their harmonies are on point too.
@hadriscus3 жыл бұрын
I have as much knowledge about drums than you do about piano and yet I felt there was something delicate about it
@vlancev19393 жыл бұрын
piano does sounds gud, the piano part plays certain notes at the lower register expressing something rather dark, deep and empty, yet powerful. its a very basic backing harmony but its perfect for a song with this kind of tone, perfect for expressing feelings of melancholy and loneliness
@lukeskywalker51563 жыл бұрын
Wow someone knows what dynamics are. Lmao. Hard to find these days in any narcissistic artist
@ItsLenihan2 жыл бұрын
Im sorry, but no, knowing how to crescendo and how to play accents as a percussionist isnt "mature," its a basic principle that you learn after like 3 days of band class or private lessons. Not saying theyre bad, I actually really like Chaos Chaos, but lets not act like shes not playing on an extremely minimalistic kit and offering a pretty basic arrangement.
@buttturkeyclips4891 Жыл бұрын
@@ItsLenihan dear God no matter what you say in KZbin someone is ready to correct you. Nobody plays or writes this well after 3 days of learning lmao. All I'm saying is that it's good. Yes shes not playing anything that hard, I agree. All I'm saying is that it's pretty good.

I'm not sure if anyone understands how great of a drummer Chloe is. I am a musician of over 30 years but I'm pretty sure even a beginner can spot what she is doing in this video. She switches her dominant hand from her right hand to her left over and over. She is ambidextrous. Timing signatures for this song are simple but her drumming methods are technical. So switching her snare hand and keeping the tempo is very impressive. 👍

Not trying to shit on her skills or anything, but it's not like it's a complex song; hence the simple drum set-up (or "a kids drum set", as someone else pointed out). Also, she only crosses over a couple of times. I'm kind of baffled why you're praising her for something so simple... If you want to see God-like drummers, look up Neil Peart, Danny Carey, or John Bonham. If you're into chicks who play drums and sing (even leading vocals), then Jen Ledger from Skillet. Again, not shitting on her, but c'mon man... It's a simple song on a simple kit. Even a newbie drummers could do what she's doing.

This drummer is fantastic. Her writing is really spot on. Apparently, she's a student of Jason McGerr, so it makes sense that she plays this well. Also, I'd bet he taught her about tone, because that snare sounds great.
