Chaos in Karakalpakstan

Most people around the world will have never heard of Karakalpakstan. The autonomous region is home to about two million people and enjoys a special status as a sovereign republic within Uzbekistan. But when the Uzbek President announced plans to reform the constitution and potentially change that status, the autonomous region rose up. In a rare act of defiance thousands took to the streets in protest, and it ended in brutal chaos. Demonstrators tried to seize several government buildings in the provincial capital Nukus. According to human rights groups, they were met with excessive force leaving at least 18 dead and hundreds injured. Following the unrest, the Uzbek government declared a state of emergency and Amnesty International is calling for an investigation into the violence.

Nukus is a great city, great art gallery, i was told not to go out at night but i did, with 500 dollers and a huge camera and i had zero problems, only bad thing was that cafe the grand lavash poisoned me with a bad pizza and i had diareah for 4 days, dont eat there !

I'm a karakalpak and there was always and still exist difficulty with water, medicine, education, employment and to free speech, etc. Now I see almost everyone is being kidnapped who was at the meeting/protest. Some of my friends are also included. We couldn't even dream about independence. The cancer and tuberculosis is the highest number amounts in Karakalpakstan. The Uzbek government is just telling lies and the uzbeks tell the reason is provokators or separatists. But the real reason the karakalpak people are just tired of being a slave to uzbek government. Now the police officers check the telephone of each person if they don't have the videos about meetings and protest for not them to be distributed to worldwide. This the real truth. Not the lady from Uzbek representative who speak about nothing in the end.

People aren't being able to share any photo or video shreds of evidence. They solely use internal calls. People are being abused violently. Uzbekistan's government is still killing numerous people violently. My relative brother was kidnapped by the military forces and the day after they left the dead of him in front of our house. The same situation is happening to hundreds of Karakalpak people. These are a complete violation of Human Rights. How on earth is this called a democratic country? The official number of dead people is fake. Please do not trust it. The number of cases is countless. Uzbekistan's government is doing what they want while restricting internet access to everyone living in Karakalpakstan. How the world, the UN, and other organizations can be ignorant of these cases? Was the country only formed because of the right to separate? If so, the central government was in the wrong trying to steal their rights...
