Meh, even if they did come from a traitor legion that doesn't automatically condemn them. The Imperium still honors the ~100,000 loyalists who died fighting their corrupted brothers on Isstvan III, who all came from traitor legions (specifically the Sons of Horus, World Eaters, Death Guard, Emperor's Children and other parts of the Imperial Army). The Grey Knights were largely founded by loyalists who survived Isstvan III. The part which would condemn them is that they still maintain a lot of the traditions of the Thousand Sons, specifically in relation to chapter Librarians and psykers in general. Additionally, they would almost certainly be targeted nearly constantly by Thousand Sons warbands if word got out, due to their possession of untainted geneseed.

By one of versions Blood Ravens were founded by Thousand Sons loyalist from Corvidae Cult that served in White Scars legion that means that Blood Ravens is the chapter of the 2nd Founding. Reason why we haven't any mention of Blood Ravens before 36-37 millenias is, on my thought, that first master hide or/and destroy chapter's history from all archives. That can happened because of one mad radical inquisitor that wanted to destroy chapter, conflict with Goge Vandire who gave order to destroy them because BR stole his crown or history contained dangerous information. First chapter master unknown because he removed himself from history and went into exile because he exactly knew the history of chapter. Reason why Inqusition hasn't declared Blood Ravens renegade or heretic is that chapter master destroyes any proves using benefits from slow burecracy of Imperium.

There are hints across the entire DoW 2 sub-series that Thule's internment into the Dreadnaught went less than spotlessly. He is still fit to fight, but his large-scale planning abilities are... Questionable.

Exaggerated, but not incorrect. Being confined to a Dreadnought is actually a fate worse than death, even for Space Marines. One, the internment process can literally kill the Marine from shock due to the neural implants needed for the crippled Marine to pilot the chassis. Two, being so badly crippled means the interred Marine can never leave the chassis. Besides the obvious, the permanent confinement can be psychologically hard to accept, even for Space Marines, especially those who were used to the thrill of battle. This mindset is exactly why Marines in Dreadnoughts surrender their offices. The agonizing pain and mental anguish will prevent most of them from performing their duties, and why off-duty, they are put to sleep and only awakened when they are needed. Kind of the reason why Bjorn is not the Great Wolf any more despite being the only active (technically) Space Marine who fought alongside his Primarch, and saw the Emperor Himself while He still walked among the living.

This is more likely the most canon ending. Since you know,we've beaten back the xenos that knows no fear,orks,eldar,purged the heretics within our own ranks and stopped a Greater Demon from getting released. Those are no small feats for a 'newly' promoted Force Commander. So yea,we deserved some damn promotion! now just lets get to March 2011 and give us Retribution!

This is really the only satisfying ending. You get made a captain of the 4th company for remaining pure. The other endings kinda suck for your character. "Good ending" (almost pure): thanks for succeeding against impossible odds and killing a goddamn greater daemon commander, but your have an imperceptible amount of corruption so you get nothing. Now back to work! Neutral (impure, but far from corrupted): congrats on your victory, but even though you are less corrupt than most of our chapter you are still corrupt, so instead of taking you as a valuable ally against Kyras we are sending you and an entire battle barge to your wasteful deaths as penance because reasons. Corrupt (corrupted): Die heretic! Bad (pure corruption): You embrace chaos and are smart enough to leave so you don't get executed. Not as good as the pure ending because you are effectively alone in the galaxy with only your squads and battle barge. Hopefully you can make a name for yourself as a champion of chaos and the dark gods will favor you or get the Black Legion to fully accept you. They might since the deaths of Araghast and Eliphas have opened a power vacuum, but otherwise it seems like a step down from being a force commander of the Blood Ravens. I heard that the commander gets to be a chaos lord of the Black Legion, but that just seems to be speculation, the ending cinematic doesn't seem to guarantee it.

@TheFoilGuy Officially the ultimate ending is a compromise between the Full and Normal Purity ending - Diomedes had been informed, but did not fully believe due to his honor, of Kyras's heresy, while Force Commander's forces had apparently branded as renegades, as it seemed in Retribution Cyrus and Martellus joined Diomede's 10 yr crusade against Eliphas in secrecy due to their renegade status. Whatever ending it is, it looked like Blood Ravens are fucked

I got this ending. :'D Possibly the hardest one to get as you have to fight insane bosses like the Avatar, have a jump pack unit in one particular mission, as well as infiltrating a area which requires a high-level cyrus (with the right equipment as well), but I think it was really satisfying getting the "good" ending. How many endings are there in the game anyway?

Avitus has to be the traitor so you can only get the good ending. Thaddeus and Aramus (Commander Hair-gel) both disappear from the plot. Signs point to them being sent to the Eye of Terror for having corruption in their ranks.

The "person" inside a Dreadnought isn't much of a "person" anymore (not that Space Marines are exactly "people" anymore to begin with), they're more like The Emperor-mostly dead, entombed, kept sort of undead-alive by ancient tech from the DAoT-my comment was sort of half-kidding, I had just never really thought about it before, a Dreadnought's capacity (or lack thereof) to hold any other rank, I mean.

Avitus is canon as traitor, one of squadmates can fall to chaos while the rest remain completely pure and still get this ending. You only get a worse ending if any of those mentioned conditions are failed.

Actually no, the good ending is canon. Captain Hairgel gets branded renegade by Kyras, couldn't open Diomedes' eyes to the corruption in the chapter but didn't kill him and then vanishes in the following 10 years.

Thaddeus and Hairgel don't appear in Retribution, and I don't believe Gabriel would allow a tainted and exiled Hairgel's forces to secretly join Diomedes. Do you have citations to the contrary?

Unfortuanatley, this was not the case. The canon ending was nuetral, with Avitus being the traitor (who was killed by Tarkus), and Thaddeus and the Commander being sent to the Eye of Terror to reddem themselves.

Жаль, что не канон. Как же хочется хоть небольшой хэппи энд в далеком и мрачном будущем. Кто не понял, в следующем длс коммандера нет. Скорее всего, его отправили в искупительный крестовых поход. Случай со смертью коммандера подразумевает, что и его ударный отряд тоже впал в ересь. Но как мы видим, что Цирус, что Таркус дальше действуют в подсекторе. Они не заслужили ни участия в крестовом походе, ни смерти. Это может нам говорить о том, ересь коснулась самого коммандера, либо он принял сомнительные тактики во время борьбы с врагами.
