In this video I am going to demonstrate what I think are the two best features recently added to Chaos Vantage with this latest release. Those features are support for displacement and V-Ray fur. they are adding all the right features at a speed that they might get ahead of D5 Render in a year or so. I still can't migrate to Vantage because of how expensive it is compared to D5. (since you need V-Ray to run Vantage), but I will definitely move to vantage if they add animated AXYZ assets in Cosmos, which might happen soon considering they already bought AXYZ.

Yeah, I thought that would be automatic when they purchased axyz, but I guess not. I sure hope that is one of the things coming, because yeah, animated assets in Cosmos would be really cool.

The quality, definitely yes. But Vantage still has certain Vray functions yet to implement.

It is using the same render engine, so in that sense, yes. That said, putting it together in a slick UI is very helpful, and I find the performance and real time feedback to be much better and far more useful. It is kind of turning into a full real time software of its own, that happens to use Vray GPU as its engine.

I saw a video where you tried to insert animations of people, but you didn't succeed. did you still not manage to insert animated people into the scene?

You can, I just wasn't familiar with the process at that point.

In what ways? I don't view Vantage and D5 as exactly the same kind of tool. I would equate D5 more to Twinmotion, Lumion or Enscape.

@@Learn-archViz The animation quality of D5 and rendering speed is way better and faster. way cheaper and accessible. with proper PBR materials D5 is way better than a dead lumion render. chaos vantage should be a realtime vray but it has a lot of way and growth until that.

@@GrecoFPV The programs I have seen that render way faster are typically using real time lighting rather than raytracing (some can do both, but the speed is very different). Vantage is not doing that. It uses the info from the vrscene to somehow give realistic raytracing but very fast with the V-Ray GPU render engine, so the speed might be slightly less, but the accuracy of the lighting is much higher.

@@Learn-archViz That's why we're using Vantage instead of D5. I'm a Corona user. I hope Corona will also be Vantage as soon as possible.
