90% preparation is the secret to these... They are perfect for what they do. They are a seeder and not a cultivator. When you think of the time save by their use I wouldn't go back to manually seeding. How did your corn crop turn out BTW?

I bought one of these. I found out your ground must be very level, the soil very fine, and the belt was very loose on my unit. I could not use mine and gave it away.

The seed wheel for carrots sucks. It just kept skipping the seeds . So you don't know whether it seeded or not. Good for big seeds. Small seed wheels are shite

Thanks for the info. I have never used mine with small seeds like carrots. It does real good for me otherwise.

Not very often. Small seeds like okra will sometimes skip. Going to fast with it will also cause a skip.

If your dirt isn't perfect.. Free of anything.. Don't waste your time or money buying one. Mine don't work with clumpy dirt. Sinks in the dirt won't push. Not a good investment for me. Back to doing it by hand. 😠
