Mild dlc spoilers: you don’t know this until he’s dead, but Hornsent’s mask description reveals that he was involved in the brutal torture of the shamans at Bonny Village for the purpose of making their jars, and even that he may have experienced thoughts of “impurity… temptation, and other wickednesses” while participating in that, so he personally is a sicko who has it coming. Does that justify Marika’s genocide of the hornsent writ large and continued oppression of omens? Of course not, but in this particular case…I think it’s fair to say that this individual hornsent, as well as messmer, and marika of course, are guilty of unimaginable crimes

: I live in Rep. Golden's district and as much as I disapprove of much of what he's done since taking office, I agree with him in the sense we HAVE to be okay with the probability that Trump will win the general election if Biden becomes the incumbent Democratic candidate. I was saying this in other places on the Internet but I need to add more to that thought here, because I can't help but remember my favorite adult son, who we miss very dearly. I think back to what he said about the left being the only bulwark against the forces of inert liberalism driving this whole planet towards apocalypse. Democrats keep going on about how democracy is at threat with this upcoming election, but WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE when the democracy we have is built on a foundation that is bound to immiserate or just flat out kill us all, regardless of who is in the Oval Office? 2016 fucked me up pretty severely, but it did put me on a path towards understanding capital relations and the development of class consciousness that comes with it. If 2024 goes in the direction I suspect it will, at least I'm better prepared to deal with it now compared to back then.
