I like the fact that Jacob didn't abandon his sons. He loved all of them. I'm sure he was frustrated, but they stuck together. The sons respected him enough to care for him at an old age. Beautiful story #OTwithDA

I first stumbled on an old sermon by DA on KZbin years ago. You preached scripture with such clarity it left no questions in my head. Many times after hearing messages in churches I came away with more questions and feeling as though God made no sense. Then after prayer one day feeling I was not progressing as a Christian and wondering why. God led me back to you. So I looked you up on KZbin and found this study and was excited to start it. I have been so blessed words cannot describe. God is being revealed to me so much more intimately than ever before. Thanks DA for allowing God to use you for my blessing!

The total transformation of Joseph's brothers can be visibly seen in this story. From murderous thugs to loving and self sacrificing persons. It is amazing to see the contrast. Its like we are looking at a totally different bunch of humans. Indeed if Christ can change these brother surely he can change me, us. AMEN!

My word is Completeness....as in this story is the whole picture... the fall, the pain, the growth, the change, the giving and receiving of forgiveness and love, and finally peace. ❤️ I was definitely filled with emotion with this one... thinking about the level of forgiveness I am gifted and that I can enjoy peace in His forgiveness and grace... and it will always be there when I fall.

WOW! Such a blessing to hear this dialogue. I loved the insights connected to food and clothing given by the guest speaker. Very cool. So much emotion wrapped up in this study. I've never before thought about the role of Judah in Joseph's narrative. POWERFUL.

Taking my time through this book but it’s been a blessing. My word also was wept. I never knew how much that word meant for me personally until I read the book. To understand that Joseph is a type of Jesus and to know He wept for me is incredible!! Wept demonstrates emotions of sorrow and pain as well as joy and peace. Just to know that I too am tested like Joseph‘s brothers were to reveal my true character is so must better than to believe it’s done out of vengeance or punishment. I had tears of joy knowing when Jesus comes again my tears will be one’s of joy and praise because with Him I endured to the end. Power chapter!!🔥🙏🏽

The idea of portion, Benjamin's portion being 5x, makes me think of of the birthright; a double portion. All the jealousy among brothers and the preferential treatment by Jacob of Joseph who was the first born of the favored wife could be linked to anxiety about the birthright--like they thought when Joseph received the coat. At Joseph's table, they were arranged in order from the birthright--the oldest, but that special treatment and more was given to the youngest, the only living son of Rachel. The brothers' not being upset about Ben could show that they'd be willing to relinquish all to Benjamin, not just favor, but the birthright they wanted to keep from Joseph.

Thinking about Jacob willing to quickly forgive his son and move on…. I’m reminded this is about personalities. Some live in the moment. Also, He is the same father that didn’t notice the issue when they were young. It’s not his bent of mind to analyze but rather to just react to what’s happening in this moment. This is neither good or bad but just how different personalities react to circumstances.

Overtones of Jesus inviting Thomas to touch Him because they couldn’t believe it was Him. Joseph inviting his brothers to come close to him because they just couldn’t believe it was Joseph.
