The times people didnt listen to him is crazy... This couldve been a much shorter series with basically 0 deaths after the Ozark move. But everyone always doubted him.

Marty was an anti-hero. His wife Wendy was a straight up villain.

Yep woulda told Narrvo to toss her out the window a long time ago lol🤷🏿♂️

@@miyagifatghost2684you have to realise that in this story Marty loves Wendy. Sure she might have gone way too far but she is still his wife, the mother of his children. He can't just simply get rid of her.

The main character trait i appreciate from Marty is he wasn't Greedyyyy!! He survived all the bull main because he wasn't greedy. It'll get you far in life.

His biggest problem was probably listening to his wife whenever she went straight up corrupt politican. They became what they were trying to run away from.

He’s just too good, point blank.

Knowing Marty Byrd, he could actually make success anywhere fact maybe you should’ve left Australia with his family instead of sticking around the Ozarks

Great analysis, really interesting seeing him compared to Walter White

He was the Skylar. They both handled the money end of things more. Wendy was Heisenberg.

Marty was the SAUL! Dude's a freaking genius who can also talk his way out of any scenario possible. Biggest difference is that Marty has a small ago and mostly just wants to be free.

I see Marty as closer to a parallel of Saul Goodman than Walter White. But where Saul uses charm Marty uses Logic. I cant help but compare the scene of him conniving Del to let him launder in the Ozark while literally under the gun to the scene of when Walt and Jesse had Saul at gun point or the scene of him negotiating to get Del to work with the Snells compared to Saul negotiating with Tuco to spare the lives of the skateboarder. Then contrasting the approach to how Marty handled the situation vs Saul.

Great video man keep it up

I think they would get along quite well because their specialty does not clash and infact complement each-other. I think Marty would be like Saul Goodman to Walter White and I think both Walter (and Mike) would respect him more than they do Saul. However if Wendy forced her way in like she did in ozaark there would be problems between Walt and Marty.

If they had built it up to Marty killing Wendy at the end this would be one of the best shows of all time, it really seemed like it was going that way until the car crash

And Ruth fucking died. The last season I figured there would be another because there is so much going on. And it just ends. And then Ruth dies. I was so angry. I kinda thought Wendy would go and Ruth and Marty would either part ways or maybe go into legitimate business together.
@tonyferra21346 ай бұрын
@@neplusultra4196 yeah that was another fucked up weird thing. I guess they tried to do their best with only one season to wrap everything up but it could have been done so much better

Marty was a perfect character surrounded by so many, such deeply flawed people, that the audience doesn't even _notice_ he's perfect. MASSIVE SPOILER (that's paradoxically spoiler-free.) I joked to my girlfriend when we watched the very first episode, "what if he's only doing this because he loves math?" It absolutely _ruined_ the show for me. For the rest of the series, it felt like I was in on a secret I wasn't supposed to know. Marty does absolutely EVERYTHING right, to the extent that if he accidentally costs someone money, he reimburses them with interest - not out of survival instinct, but because he loves doing the math. He loves when the math gets more complicated, and he always NAILS IT. Whenever someone steals from him, when Wendy buys a new business he shouldn't be able to handle, when the Cartel makes an unreasonable demand... Marty is initially frustrated by the introduction of a previously unknown variable, then _solves the equation anyway._ He never loses his temper because, for God's sake, he just _loves math._
@coreypayne94014 ай бұрын
Dude I thought this exact same thing. He has no ego about anything at all, he just genuinely loves doing the work. Wendy on the other hand is all ego and just wants to dominate the world and win at any cost.

Been awhile since I've watched the series, but I don't think Marty ever had a choice. Or at least a better choice.

We need the Sopranos back. I don't even think Meadow and AJ would stand around and take this lame NARCOS bully crap. They would have EFFED that woman up on the fancy dance spot for threatening to field dress them like some animal.

Living in Mexico I've been informed pretty well about how cartels work like most other Mexicans have and I gotta say it took Marty waaaay too long to exercise the power he had: the vast majority of all income for all cartels comes from the United States (like 90% of all of their income, easily) so whoever is the top earner and launderer there is the de facto second in command and in the show Marty earned like 95% of what the cartels earned so he was in fact the second most powerful (arguably the most powerful, and especially because he orchestrated the downfall of their main rival cartel which means he's an admired leader, strategic genius and the member of the sole remaining cartel) but we rarely saw him exercise said power which was disappointing to me (except when he told the boss of the Kansas City Mafia that "you get anywhere near me again and next time you see your son he's gonna be hanging from a bridge in Juarez" 😂 or when he took over the cartel and had some Mexican lieutenant tortured and killed which wasn't a pity for the guy was probably a murderous scumbag). In fact, Wendy exercised the power more often, like when he had Cade Langmore offed or her own brother offed haha 😂

Because Marty wasn’t egotistical or narcissistic. He was very stoic and level headed. Those traits can get you very far and stop you going crazy.
