I like how different the archons react to immortality and losing a friend: Venti used escapism (aka running away and going after pleasures such as drinking), Zhong li buried himself in his work (though he could be considered luckier since he had other immortal companions?), while Baal is in denial of what happened, well not really in denial but she’s trying to make sure that her pains would never happen again.

Heck, he had a story arc all about helping one of his worshippers let go of the pain of the death of his friend so that he could be happy in the now, which is especially paralleled since they were both disguised as friends who died because of them, only "Stanley" was doing it out of guilt and despair while "Venti" was doing it out of love and respect.

One thing I love that mihoyo did, unintentionally or intentionally, was basically reincarnate Raiden’s old friends. Sara is the new tengu general, Itto is the new Oni, and Yae is the new fox. Specifically Sara and Itto are the direct descendants of the originals. It seems they are all friends as well; itto and Sara are frenemies/rivals, itto and Sara are also friends with Yae. Yes there are twin goddess Baal (mortal name Makoto) and Beelzebul (mortal name Ei) they both won the archon war. But Makoto took the gnosis and everyone thought there's just one God there's never been twin Gods. Ei works as her sister body double because they are identical. Both of them agree to never let anyone know that there's two Gods ruling Inazuma. But Makoto died in cataclysm (just in case it's when kharien'ah disaster started) so Ei took her place as the new "Baal" Well no ones know that they changed the archon because again they are identical.

Indeed, I wish they would have went the route of the player picking Aether/Lumine and playing the story AS that character, not the shell of those characters with no voice. The Shogun's eternity is so much more complex than we think. while we all thought that Ei wanted to preserve the past and keep things be exactly how the past was through eternity, she actually always wanted to stop the future and preserve the present moment. eternity does not affect the past, but the present. She basically wants to eliminate the past and the future and keep the present moment preserved, in an unchanging motion. the reason im saying this is because i've seen people say that she is blind because she's stuck in the past but actually she has a much better understanding of eternity Ei is actually a genius.

@@eg-draw Archons are, in the end, just powerful entities that have defeated other powerful god like entities and become the 7 true gods of teyvat. It's important to understand that they are all called archons, yet they are individually different. There's no reason to assume that other archons have families just because ei have a sister. What ei and makoto originally was before becoming an archon is unknown, but venti is a random wind spirit while zhongli is a really powerful adeptus

@@stevenlee3240 Yes. Venti is honoring Nameless Bard’s life by embodying freedom. He oftentimes muse and reminisce about it but also he drinks life away. Morax is truly a living rock. Outliving friends and loved ones, weathering through time. Baal might have dealt with her loss in an extreme manner. Sheltering her heart in an eternal pocket of space free from all the hurt and pain of the real world. It’s a take on what happened to her and I can’t wait until we all know more.

@@royalvintal It also makes me think what each archon has lost for them to act the way they are doing. The Dendro Archon may have been betrayed and outsmarted which can explain why he didn't care about the management between scholars research; nor their search of definite answers. The Hydro Archon's loss is probably related to how the ones she loves were harmed by others in many ways and decided to install a dictatorial regime by judging everyone. Murata may have shown mercy in the past until it brought to her own loss, seeing her companions and her soldiers all being slaughtered in the hands of the enemy, leading her to show terror and have the enemies turn to ashes. The Tsaritsa may be the most tragic of them all. Her soul may be more lost than any other archons. She may have wished to have unconditional love, but it may have probably never happen. Still, she gave her love to a world that probably never showed her gratitude nor love her in return. Khaenri'ah's destruction may have snapped her the hardest and changed completely

During one particular battle, she was swallowed whole by a beast. While within this "beast of sin," she was "stained by a deep sin" and witnessed her comrades being torn apart by the beast's jaws. She drew her sword against the Shogun, but her sword-arm and horn were severed. She then fled and disappeared into the forest, with her ultimate fate left unknown: people believe she was slain by either the tengu, the Shuumatsuban, or even the Iwakura Clan.

This is actually a really good backstory for her, she slowly lost the people around her one by one and she realised while being a god had it’s pros, she also had to a endure the curse of immortality. Because of this she didn’t want her people (aka the last thing she had left) to be lost as well. So she implemented the vision hunt decree as well as the ideals of ‘eternity’ so it would always be with her
