Because of the wisdom, along with the consequent doubts and fears, that they had (Tiara of Gales), they decided that they would try and reach(?) Celestia. To do this, they did stuff and became hella powerful. But since prosperity must end and the earth be renewed again (Tiara of Frost), the envoys (Archons?) didn't like what Khaenriah was doing because it would mean the end of all humanity (we will be reunited quest: khaenriah was basically harassing or was about to harass other nations in pursuit of conquest) so the archons basically sacrificed khaenriah. This would mean that the end of prosperity will still arrive but only for one nation. Paints the archons in a good light, but... yeah?
