Capitalists will always find a way to make money off stuff. Android itself started as an open-source project, and now smartphone makers preload their own bloatware and exaggerate the rest of the changes to the OS so that they can justify their own version of Android.

I love the Aesthetic of super efficient and simple like Linux is. I remember back when they had Flux and OpenBox where you could make your computer look much more minimal and beautiful than Apple where everything you needed was just a right-click of the mouse. Right-click = Start Menu of Programs & Settings. You didn't need a tool bar or anything.

Funny thing is, you could slap a 4G/5G modem in this, install linphone, and have a better phone then most of the linux phones people are trying to make these days, and still have your fully functional linux device. :)
