honestly, i'm with criken, but for diffrent reasons. yes with a fulcrum you could lift a heavy object with comparatively little force... however, you're not trying to lift the fridge door, you're trying to -open- it.... getting a system set up in such a way that you could open the door while also being as small as a mouse would be a feat in and of itself, and if you were going to those lengths just to get the fridge door open you wouldnt need it.... you could just stick an overengineered jack in-between the door and the frame and crank it via hand crank until you cant anymore, then stick a small wedge into the seal around the door to release the vaccum. a mouse sized wobo with nothing but a barrel and a long stick is never gonna get that fridge open.
@BronzedBeast2 жыл бұрын
He kinda proved it on stream. It doesn't matter what the levers goal is. He's gonna open it. Plus if he got between the crack of the fridge door and put his back and against the fridge and his legs against the door. Its opening plus humans built the pyramids. I think that's more unbelievable than a mouse sized man opening the fridge.

Ight so idk why but I decided to do the research to find out the answer to that mouse and fridge question. This is what I found the average fridge door has a resistance of 5-10lbs the average mouse weighs 40-45 grams and can carry 120-160 grams which is less than a pound way but with a crow bar which allows us humans to I would say yield about 500-1000 pounds of force and that’s just for a regular person with no training so take these mice who are actually very strong for their size give em a crow bar and boom that fridge is definitely being opened I think 😂

The fridge thing is peak misunderstanding. With the right contraption you could but... Infinite force? If we had that perpetual motion machines and energy generation would work. One Finger? That is near impossible, the wrist feels movement from muscles and possibly the arm if attentive. The worst offender has to be the unwillingness to get the numbers for it and just go off of pure guess work when we know well how physics and this stuff works. Infinite Force claims and somehow only applying One Finger worth of worse are a great example of why we get numbers. It is possible... but it may not be in the way you're expecting.

Mouse-sized Wobo's weight should be taken into account.
@ThePhantomiteZ Жыл бұрын
The average healthy mouse you would find in a home/kitchen has been proven to have the average max *lifting* force of about 120 to 160 grams, or 1.5x to 2x their own body weight. It depends on the fridge, but given the right leverage, the force of an 80-gram mouse charging at the edge of the handle of a butter knife propped against something and wedged into the seam of the fridge door's seal would - *on average* - be able to wedge open the door, or partially wedge open the door. The mouse could then press against the floor and push the knife enough to completely open the door, as the seal - and therefore the pressure difference which typically holds the fridge door shut - would be broken, and most of the force required to open the door would then be going through the hinges. There are any number of factors that would change a lot of things, such as the weight of the knife, the object being used to prop the knife into the fridge, how old the fridge's seal is and what brand the fridge is, what temperature the fridge is set to, if there's a slight tilt to the ground or if the fridge door is designed to swing shut on its own weight ( _a lot of fridges do this_ ), but this is considering averages and generally good circumstances. A *mouse* could do it. ...Now what about a *human who's been shrunk to the size of a mouse?* Average male weight of a 5'9" ( _or about 69 inches tall. nice._ ) 20-year-old American is about 200 lbs, and the average maximum *untrained* lifting force of that same man would be between 140 to 200 lbs, which is actually *less lifting force than a mouse.* That's 0.7x to 1x the man's body weight. The average mouse referenced before would be, at most, about 4 inches long on average, so bringing the average man down to 4 inches in height ( _being generous, here_ ) would divide his 200 lbs of weight 17.25 times, leaving him at a meager 11 lbs, which is still way more than the mouse weighs. That punch-packing 4989.5 grams would be more than enough to push open the door, lever or no, although it might prove challenging since that weight has a much smaller space for leveraging the door open than a human would at normal height. It'd feel like trying to push a whole Semi with your bare hands, but the math checks out, it would be *possible.*

Alright, I'm here to debunk Charborgs silly mouse fridge claim. Here we go. There is a US law mandating a fridge must be operable (ie you can open it) with 15 pounds of force. Therefore, I'm using this as a measurement on average fridge door. Researching this is a giant can of worms, because there's a lot that goes into this (air pressure, the vacuums fridges create, suction on the door, etc). So, again, we are going with 15 pounds. Mice tend to be stronger than rats, as they can hold their own weight whereas rats apparently cannot. Plus, Charborg did mention "mouse sized". So to the brass tax; how fookin stronk are they? Well, the beefy little boys can lift (very generous estimates) 100-160 grams. This is 0.3 pounds. We can assume a human sized mouse *may* be stronger depending on the human, but any crowbar/cantilever small enough that the human can operate would not be able to generate 50x the force (taken from 0.3 pounds). Thus we can conclude Charborg was a silly goose

First, we have to decide how we are going to be scaling wobo. Are we scaling him by height or weight? Well, I decided to do both. I looked up the average weight and height of an Australian male. From there I looked up the same for a house mouse. Australian Male: 5'9" 89.6 kg (3160.547 oz) House Mouse: 4" 0.9 oz Now, how do we figure out how much force the new small wobo will be able to exert? An average male is able to overhead push with a force of 122.63 newtons. so this will be the figure we use for force. If we scale wobo based on weight (weight and strength has a higher correlation than strength and size) he will be able to exert a whole 0.03 newtons of force. If we scale wobo based on height he will be able to exert 7.1 newtons of force. Now how much effort does it take to open a fridge? well, lets use a maximum force rating for fridges in the US, which is 15 lbs of force (67 newtons). If wobo can open this fridge, he can open any fridge. So now, lets get to the lever. If we put a fulcrum super close to the fridge, lets say 3 inches, then we can start working out how much force will be required We need to find the equilibrium between wobo and the fridge since this will let use find the minimum length required for the lever. Knowing that torque right = torque left, we can then find the length of the lever for both types of scaling. Weight: 67 * 3 = 0.03*x 201 / .03 = x x = 6700 3 + 6700 = 6703 The total length of this lever would have to be 6703 inches (or 558 ft) long Height: 67 * 3 = 7.1*x 201 / 7.1 = x x = 28.3 3 + 28.3 = 31.3 The total length of this lever would have to be 31.3 inches (or 2.6 ft) long

With a big enough leverage you could technically lift the whole earth with the power of your finger. I don't think mouse sized dude would have enough strength to set up a good enough lever.

using enougth polies and ropes he can open the fridge door. because using polies you can pull more rope (in lenth) to exert more force. so if enought polies he would pull a lot of rope if little force that would convert to little lenth if lot of force.

I have a literally toy car made completely of metal (probs aluminum) that's about two inches tall. It requires far less force to lift it than open a fridge. Regardless... A mouse-sized you cannot lift two kilos. Probably not even those 70g unless you do some real strength training. 2 kilos is many times your weight already at that size and the most the average person can deadlift is approximately 1.6-2 times their body weight. A male mouse weighs 20-30g. The most a person ever deadlifted was 6 times their body weight and that's because they had a severe case of scoliosis that allowed for increased leverage during their deadlift. That's also just the deadlift which is the lift most people perform the best in. They also require the strength to not only lift but then push a lever sideways. So say they only are able to direct enough sideways directed force to push with 30g, and if it's resting on a surface maybe more force could be applied but some of it will be sapped by friction on said surface. That's a huge stretch in itself considering the length of the lever we're using and probs only applies to the lightest materials your pushing... That's also reliant on how much you can resist friction from the ground with your feet. Also, since we're assuming we're relying on a lever, it needs to be made of a sturdy enough material that's light enough for you to lift the long side of the lever or to push it against a solid surface. Either way, the force to lift 30g to push with the force to lift 2 kilos (ie to push open the fridge) requires a lever with a leverage of a ratio of 67:1. Again, that's a conservative estimate... It most likely will be upwards of 100:1 considering you need to also lift the lever or push it against a surface and at some point you will get diminishing returns from the very weight of the lever (wood, probably the least dense relatively sturdy material, has a rough average density of about 1.5g/cm^3 and you'll need a long ass piece of it that's sufficiently thick minimum). Yeah my guess is no way in hell... Sorry wobo and Charbo.
