But I think he should definitely sit out at least the next few weeks to not be at risk of getting hurt even worst.. This guy played with hurt ribs, so his pain tolerance is high, do you not see the pieces adding up for a player thats willing to sacrifice himself for the team? His micro future he's willing to sacrifice, but a major achilles injury is macro damage thats going to lower his overall ceiling. The staff is supposedly here to help the franchise trend positively, how could you argue they did that if he gets hurt?

Obviously, I am a KC fan, have been for 50+ years. My respectful take on this is: This isn't the game. It's a week 4 reg season game with too many of the bolt's best players out. Even as div opponents, this is the first meeting. I have respect the bolts, they always play KC tough and Herbert is a uniquely talented franchise QB. His health and future durability should be more important to the team and to him than (this) one game. I could see it differently if it were the playoffs or a more pivotal game, but it's week 4. Besides, Henicke is no slouch as a backup QB, and KC defense has a lot less experience facing him than they do Herbert. Maybe a slight advantage to Bolts early in the game? He'll prob still play - or at least for a while, but I don't think he should.

What kind of a leader would resort to not playing if capable of doing so? He is indicating that he is feeling better than last week when he started. Why concede a game to the Chiefs? Now, that doesn't mean we shouldn't factor protecting him into the game plan. Run heavy with limited 5 step drops to reduce the chance of disaster. If he is capable of playing he should play. If he tightens up and/or the game gets out of hand then pull him. Just can't imagine the team Harbaugh is building mentally would accept their star QB and leader taking a week off when playing a division rival.
