Thank you so much for these videos. They really help to understand the concepts. I have a question: We add R410 in a liquid balanced form, but I am curious if R410 leaks from a system over time while the system is not running, does one or the other (R32 or R125) leak out disproportionately and imbalance the function of the gasses and cause a loss of efficiency ? If that was so should the system be evacuated and new refrigerant installed ?

The way I hook up the guages. Open suction side guage, close liquid side. Connect suction hose and let it bleed through charging hose and then close charging hose ball valve. Open liquid guage to bleed from suction side, then close liquid ball valve. Connect liquid line hose. Close guages and open liquid ball valve. Definitely no air getting in because the system pressure is pushing air out as you're connecting Hoses. Any thoughts or objections? The way taught in school is sort of silly to me. So I do it opposite. I use ball valve low loss fittings. Idk if this would work with his fittings in the video

So the 7.6 degree's subcooling on the condenser's tag is the minimum amount of subcooling needed. I have a question, I hope you read this. How many degree's difference should there be between ambient temps and condenser refrigerant temp? Or should this just be ignored?
@DanO1819192 жыл бұрын
@ 8:33 it shows a target of 9.7 degree sub-cooling. You have a +\- 3 degree sub-cooling. It’s probably better to go over a little to allow for refrigerant loss due to connecting/disconnecting your gauges. You ask about CTOA (condensing temperature over ambient) it all depends on the unit. Rule of thumb is your older units have a 30 degree CTOA and the newer (high efficient) units could be as low as 15 degree CTOA.

Let me help you...1st. The system wasn't low..you added refrigerant and made your suoerheat go down .if it's 77 inside you should have MORE suoerheat..if it gets a q10 inside and 101 outside ,you will have NO superheat putting the compressor in danger...suoerheat ensures 100 percent vapor..your coil temp was 35.too low..you wasted time and charged a homeowner to get minimal or no reward
@acservicetechchannel2 жыл бұрын
This system had a TXV so we use subcooling to charge. Superheat is checked to make sure the TXV is operating properly. If you try to set these systems using superheat, they will get overcharged. On a system with a TXV, the indoor coil sat temp depends on the indoor air wb temp, thanks.
@anthonylasassa96792 жыл бұрын
Youre right with a warmer return temp youll have higher superheat even with a txv. Also forgot to mention why he's adding in the first place. If it's low, perform a leak search and repair the leak. But it's OK all of these home owners trying to charge their own units is gonna make us a lot of money when they end up having to call us anyway.
