Does this go against what the recommendations are for the battery which is to plug it in to the wall first then plug in the charger?

Hi Mike, have you observed any sparks when plugging in the charger into the battery? I follow the recommended procedure of switching the battery off and starting with the charger disconnected from the wall. I sometimes see a small spark when plugging the charger into the battery.

Sparking is a common issue, and it generally won't hurt anything. The trick we have found for reducing it is to first turn on or plug in the charger with the battery unplugged, turn it off or unplug after 3-5 seconds, then plug it into the battery. This seems to keep the spark from happening. I have three chargers plugged into a power strip, so it's very easy for me to do this each time I charge my batteries

mine will straight up start a fire very thick smoke from the port.

my appears to be in sleep mode, how can i get out of that mode and get it to charge.

Hi, this workaround worked for me a few times, and now I never get a charge from this device no matter what order I unplug, replug. Has anybody else seen this or have a suggestion?

See if you can find somebody near you that has a battery and charger so you could diagnose the issue. We've seen a couple of chargers go bad, and 1-2 batteries
