And they read thru the lens of a movie the way many people read the book after seeing the movie. No real grasp of Spiritual teachings. I can see it in the responses on social media. Seeking to find out what happens next in a made up show, is not the same as seeking truth.

After reading the comments I have realized just how mean, rude and discouragingly hateful people can be. It's heartbreaking. The Chosen does not, nor have they ever claimed to be exact in a biblical sense. They are telling a story of the birth andife of Jesus Christ. Of course, there are scenes that are not factual but is more of a "it could have happened" situation. The show has accomplished what no other show has ever done. Thousands of people have turned to God, the Bible, and the church. The Chosen has been inspiring people worldwide to get Baptized and to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. And, The Chosen has made it easier for many people to understand the Bible. So, with so many GREAT attributes, how can you say that it is so bad? If you can't be kind, be quiet 🤐 Scroll along please

People can be hateful because they are legalistic and they want us all to follow the Old Testament Laws. But, they are wrong because they don't read their whole Bible. I love The Chosen TV show. I read and study my Bible more now.

🙌🙏🫶 As do I. And my young niece, her husband and son have turned to Jesus and the Church. They were baptized last June. I am so proud of her/them. I have been a believer for my entire life. But I did somewhat stray. The Chosen has pulled me back in and I have bought myself 2 Bibles. 1 for home, and 1 to keep with me. I wish you well, my brother in Christ. ✝️🛐☮️🌎♾️☯️💜🙌🙏🫶

Yes! It's called historical fiction, or historical drama. Meaning it is factual along with fictional story lines as openers to certain subjects or situations. This helps the audience graspe the truthful Message.

There are so many lost and unhappy people in the world. They don’t like to be alone so they try to have people agree with them. It’s just sad and we don’t know who or what is influencing them. Who knows, they might be changed by continuing to watch and even comment. I just prays for souls like that. Thank you for standing up for your beliefs, it’s all good.

The Chosen has helped me connect with God's Word in a way that was not available to me before seeking the show. I can connect with the stories in the Bible in a more intimate and personal way than just words on a page ever could. The show gives context and meaning that was known back in those days - the culture, the reality of how life was. We are so far removed from how things once were that this helps gain that context and meaning infured between the line of Scripture that is lost to us now. I can truly appreciate every word in the Bible now because I have a more personal connection associated with it. Thank you Dallas Jenkins for staying true to your vision. God Bless.

Having been dismayed for years at the various TV and movie entertainment offerings, The Chosen is a real breath of fresh air, uplifting and encouraging! Also as a Christian, and realizing as the show openly admits that The Chosen is largely fiction _based on_ the Bible and is not in its totality the Bible itself acted out verse by verse, I have supplemented my study of the Bible over the years with media in various forms, from hardback multi-volume commentaries, other reference books, online blogs, printed periodicals, published lesson plans, sermons, Bible class lessons, fictitious narratives set in the period, etc., etc. All these offerings are _also_ not the Bible, yet all assert things about the Bible with which I may or may not agree. No problem with any of that, and I am edified by all of it, even those things with which I disagree, as they serve to either test and strengthen my own beliefs, or else help correct me in something I may have gotten wrong. So for those reasons, I find The Chosen fascinating as a sort of 'living commentary', posing various possibilities as to backstories, cultural context, 'day in the life' suggestions for people described in the Bible, and even exegetical analyses on topics like the boundaries of Jesus' divinity and humanity while on earth. The only possible risk I can see with watching The Chosen from a Bible study perspective, is that someone would see something acted out in The Chosen that is not in the Bible, and not following up with Bible reading, assume some bit of artistic license they saw to be in the Bible. But that's true of anything you could read, watch or hear about the Bible, and we must all make sure what we are believing and saying is true to the Word. So, on balance, The Chosen is IMO highly uplifting, and spiritually profitable.

I love this TV show. The writers and creators are phenomenal. The characters, like Dallas said we can relate to on one level or another. There are a few things, however that were challenging for me. The one that comes to my mind is the sexual content between Peter and Eden. It wasn’t the kiss of a hug. Or the implied need for sex. It was the way the apostle responded sayipng.” I’ll put a pillow over my ears.”I just don’t see why it was necessary to put that in there. That comment was unnecessary. But like I said, I am enjoying this TV show. Thank you, Dallas and the other writers for creating the show and entertaining us. God bless you.

I understand staying largely away from cgi, because it more often than not doesn't look real, but Dallas almost didn't include the walking on water scene and I feel that would have been a huge mistake. You can and arguably should include the miracles because they are historical and a part of his ministry, even if that means you have to invest in some special effects. Just be wise in how you use those special effects.

I like The Chosen very much. That being said, I was disapointed with the end of S5,E 8, especially with the cut out done to the Book of John, Chapter 6, one of the most explicit discourses of Jesus. Were these words too hard for Dallas that he prefered them not to be said? Curiously many people thought the same way and left Jesus back to live their previous lives. Although this was taken out, the end of it, out of context, was added. But Peter's expression was an answer to the question "Do you also want to leave?" This was really sad for me. But I still wish to see the rest of it.

Love this show soooooo much. I do believe it is anointed. Literally the ONLY thing I disagree with Dallas on is employing Dan Haseltine of Jars of Clay to do the music. Dan is so anti biblical and wears it proudly as a badge of honor, as he leads the charge of progressivism along side the likes of now proud, unapologetic deconstructionists Derek Webb of Caedmons Call and Kevin Max of DC Talk. They proudly call themselves Exvangelicals, along side an ever growing population of the church who somewhere along the way put their faith in fallen sinful man and blame the evangelical church for all out the ills of the world. For anyone who is being tempted to leave the church due to all of its hypocrisy, can I remind you that that is exactly why Jesus came, to seek and save the sinners? Also, go pick up a copy of Another Gospel by Alisa Childers and follow the podcast of Jon Cooper of Skillet. They're on the front lines trying to keep thousands of souls from leaving the church for a lie. Much love!

Isn't that something...a christian made series about Jesus that didnt show the Baptism or Transfiguration! Two pivotal moments where God shows up to glorify His Son! Even the worst secular made movies knew to include those two scenes. Oh but Dallas did say it had nothing to do with their story, and Daryl Eaves said theres confusion about how Jesus was baptized, and they wanted to avoid controversy. Also the reason for the lack of emphasis on sin and repentance, a heavy aspect of Jesus' ministry. Many people don't like that.

It's one thing to add background to a character, such as one of the disciples, or historical context that seems plausible when Scripture doesn't give us all the details. It's another thing completely when the creators change Scripture "because it doesn't fit the way we want to tell our story." That's when the alarm goes off in my head and I like "The Chosen" less. As the seasons pass, I want Dallas and the other writers to be more conscious of the dangers of altering the Bible for their own purposes. When you portray biblical stories on the screen, you owe it to the Lord and your Christian believers to be accurate. The "capital T Truth" rationalization is, for me, a copout. Just get it right.

Agreed! Quite frankly nothing is gained by knowing about the Apostles lives as they left those lives to follow Christ. Maintaining the True Divine nature, qualties, and especially teachings of Jesus, and those of John the Baptist....are whats essential. However true Bible Jesus always makes many uncomfortable. Chosen has helped to lessen that discomfort.

@karenstein1490 Remember this, it's a TV show,and killing Rema was to show that God's ways is not our ways,and resurrecting in the TV show would be a little redundant. It's God showing us that in the midst of loss,and heart ache that we need God the most ,and to trust in our Lord for he is our salvation. That's the point of Remas death.

@reginapontes5672 Well, since she is entirely fictional, we can say she did not exist. A disciple like her may have existed, Thomas may have had a fiancé, that possible fiancé may have been a fellow follower, but we can definitively say Rama did not exist.

I hope they make an effort to depict Jesus as He is… Jesus was known to be majestic in stature and when he (The Word) spoke, He did so with authority… When He worked a miracle He knew throughout eternity when that was to take place… In this film it’s like as if Jesus Himself is surprised at the miracle!! In regards to Jesus Holy mother Mary who was totally humble… Her demeanour was “HUMILITY” In this film Mary is somewhat immodest!.. A disgrace!! It also needs to be said that Jesus was NOT born in the usual manner! He was miraculously conceived by the power of The Holy Spirit, and through the Holy Spirit passed through the womb of Mary… What teachings resulted in this film being so distorted

Jesus was fully human. This means His human body passed to His Mother’s womb to the birth canal in a human way with labor pain and blood and fluids like every other human. He is still Divine. His lovely Mother…is not. He cried, he ate, he prayed He is God. Please show me the verses that state he was majestic in nature all the time. He showed Himself to be like this a certain times when He chose to such as the Transfiguration.
@gobrad

@@tbastrikes7847 Yes your correct in everything you said bar his passing through the birth canal.. Mary was the only human being preserved from original sin from which a woman will suffer giving birth as a result… As Jesus’ resurrected “body” passed through the door/wall to his apostles, so to did His “body” pass through His mother’s womb overshadowed by The Holy Spirit… Tge reason you may not comprehend this is perhaps due to the reformation when Luther omitted sacred scripture thus distorting the truth which in turn caused confusion… You can see the hand of the deceiver in this as it caused separation… As he broke away from the vine, another sect in turn broke away from him resulting in what now exists over 30 thousand denominations, each in contradiction to the other!… bare in mind all Christians were Catholic up to the reformation… Although corruption entered the Church, it was there in the first 12… This was to continue through the ages, this is how the truth is glorified in the body of christ which is His Church… Mary is Mother not only of His physical body but also His Mystical body, She is the living tabernacle and as such remains Holy…. To say Mary was a sinner, to deny Her perpetual virginity, is blasphemy... Mary is properly to be considered The Spouse of The Holy Spirit since The Holy Spirit "overshadowed" Her and the formal cause of Her virginal conception of Jesus (Mathew 1:18-24) Mary's unique and supernatural maternity through the power of The Holy Spirit, thereby precludes Her from intimate union with man. Again the distorted view is Jesus had brothers, He did not… Mary is "Ever Virgin" because of Her undivided gift of Herself to God. As such Her giving birth was also supernatural…

@@CelticSpiritsCoven Satan is the influence behind that statement… Are you aware of the Arc of The Covenant in which God dwelt to be amongst His people?… No one could physically touch the arc without sudden death coming upon them… Mary is the Living Arc of the covenant… So Holy is He that the vessel in which He was to be carried for 9 months, from which He was to assume His Human Flesh, Holy was to be that vessel that God preserved Her from original sin… No man nor Angel for that matter could possibly comprehend the Holiness of Mary who proclaimed it in Her Magnificat … So Holy was She the arc Angel’s salutation hailed Her “Full of Grace” to be full of grace means to be full of God, again confirming the magnificat… You see, the first sin was “pride” committed by the incubator of sin (Satan) The opposite of pride is “Humility” Mary is “Humility” Satan hates Her for that alone… It was Her humility that blinded Satan of who She truly was on Earth, He knew She was important, he knew Jesus was important thinking him to be a prophet, but he did not know He was messiah until He died on the Cross… Satan unwittingly hastened the day of our redemption!! Had he known what Jesus death would accomplish, he would not have influenced Judas… You are seriously mistaken to suggest Mary was not Holy and you are undermining not only Her, but God in His plan to bring about A perfect woman, I say woman for She is “The Woman” mentioned in genesis… It does not surprise me you thinking as you do seeing you are listening to a false teacher… Isn’t it ironic that he quotes from the very Bible that was given to us through The Catholic Church, or do you perhaps think The Holy Spirit chose incorrectly?… If I were Satan, I’d do everything in my power to dishonour Her who undid his plan of destruction through Eve, he had his way with eve, but not through Mary, don’t you think we should honour Her for that?.. Ya see, this false teacher McCarther will falsely proclaim that Catholics worship Mary, this is false, we DO NOT WORSHIP MARY… We worship God alone, however, we do honour Her and rightly so… Blessed are those who have Her intercede to Her Son for us… Don’t let anyone tell you She can’t obtain from Her Son for you, Satan wants you to think that way!!!! For he knows all to well the power if Her intercession brings about in souls!

Is it factual - no. Is it truthful - I think so. Truth: that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality. Truth: A fact or belief that is accepted as true. Are people believing that what you consider to be truthful - reason why Thomas “doubts” - shown in the Ramah storyline - is actually factual - which it isn’t, as you said. So in reality - to those watching - fact and truth are the same. That might be the problem with your fact - no, truthful - yes statement - and why some questioned the Ramah/Thomas fictional storyline and how that ended. Had nothing to do with Thomas doubting or the start to his doubting. So it was neither factual or truthful. And what followed - same.
@annme7638
@annme7638 Ай бұрын
There really isn’t a problem with his facts-no, truthful-yes statement, because he’s not talking about truthful as in a particular event happening, he talking about biblical Truths, capital T Bible Truths, the lessons that scripture teaches us. In the Thomas/Ramah storyline it’s the Truth that God doesn’t always answer our prayers the way we would like, that’s why the episode opens with the factual story of David pleading with God to spare the life of his child and David accepting that the answer was no, it ends with Thomas in the same position most of us have been at one time or another. As far as Thomas’ doubting, we know something must have been going on with him, the Chosen is just showing a plausible reason for the sake of being able to make a film presentation of the story. The Chosen is a historical drama series that is based on the Scriptures and is presented as such, it’s why they always encourage viewers to read the Bible. And apparently, based on feedback, reading the Bible is exactly what viewers are doing.

@user-wi3bt9xg5h Your comment is a bit confusing, but I do agree that the fiction is distorting the truth in certain instances. I do not agree with the idea that Thomas had any such doubt in Christ as The Chosen is portraying with this death and loss of his fictional fiancé. He did not doubt that Christ could or would be resurrected. He doubted that his fellow apostles had actually seen him and wanted to see the Lord himself. He may not even have been doubting the apostles . He may simply have said, “I can’t believe it!! I’ve just gotta see it!” We all say things like that when things are so marvelous and spectacular. But there is nothing in the Bible that suggests he doubted that Christ could raise the dead or that He would be resurrected himself. I totally agree with you on that.

@annme7638 The only thing we know “was going on with him” is he wanted to see the risen Lord himself, with his own eyes. That does not indicate anything deeper or anything of significant doubt.

It's a show that's all it is. Looking at discernment it's no wonder that the church is in trouble. God is using Dallas Jenkins ? God's will is going to be done in spite of Dallas Jenkins and his show. If this show really had God's blessing no promotion would be needed. God would provide for everything. Words from Jenkins himself: "I think it's also true that it would be a problem if I actually said those words definitively,” Jenkins added. “That would be a problem, and here's why: Not because there aren't LDS folks who aren't Christians and not because there aren't LDS and Evangelicals who love the same Jesus, but because it would be wrong of me to ever say that any one group believes any one thing altogether. That is just a level of arrogance that I don't have.” No Mr Jenkins, it shows that you either have no discernment or biblical wisdom or both. One group believes and accepts BIBLICAL TRUTH, the other does not. A show WILL NEVER replace solid biblical truth in other words GODS WORD. God does not want us to be entertained He wants us to know and accept The WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE Jesus Christ. Get into your bibles and leave this to the world.

The intention of the Chosen is not to replace the bible. Where did you get that from? I just saw a 2 hour interview with Jonathan Roumi where he explained that they see the show more as a historical drama. There are people who maybe would never open the bible. This show is an invitation to the Gospel and people start reading their bible because of the show. I‘m aware that there is potential to be dangerous in a sense when people have the face of Jonathan Roumi in mind when praying for example. I try to proof it and keep what is good.
