If this series gets to the crucifixion of Jesus, it’s just going to hit different. The passion of the Christ was difficult enough to watch. But we didn’t have the same kind of connection to that portrayal of Jesus that we will this one. Seeing him over the course of multiple seasons, the connection will be so much greater and watching him sacrifice himself will hit so much harder.

This time I was dying as I was drinking a bottle of whiskey and 3 to six beers, yet being a quality of life person, figuring that with the liver damage being irreversible (my thought), just decided on carrying on. I let God know in conversation that I was fine with every thing, accept both my death and my fault. As I was talking I was thinking about Phil Robertson from, "Duck Dynasty," and "In the Woods with Phil." As wondered how that preacher and man of nature would end it, and concluded with, "God your will; not mine, not the devil's" I had a dream and walking up to me was the lady I wanted but was lost to me to a drunk driver. She walked up to me and said, "Mike, I wouldn't want you to do this." I started crying and she hugged me but dematerialized when I get that kiss in. Hey, it was always Jean's rules and I went cold turkey to end up having a seize. With the help of a similar friend I researched and worked it out. "OK God, so to quit drinking, I have to start drinking again? You're Yiddish!" Since I hadn't eaten food in two weeks or drink any liquid besides alcohol in three, I couldn't taper down as the demand; but in two weeks and everyday a severe with draw managed to get get off the alcohol. In a sense the world opened up to me and I learned to live life and in a few weeks start to eat again, I also discovered is the one organ that regenerates. I've experimented a bit and while I can enjoy a drink or two every now and them, it is a very short leash to find oneself addicted again. Thanks for sharing I will keep, "It is not for you," in mind. After what I stated, manage to use my experiences and eye to help a few others out.

I pray He will lead you to do the same and see through the fiction and deception. How do those who neither know nor belong to Jesus, present the "Authentic Jesus"? When the Mormon owners and producers declare they're presenting the "Authentic Jesus" who's? Is it theirs, that had 3 wives including Mary Magdelene, and was just a man and brother to satan? Or are they compromising their Jesus, as Dallas and Johnathan are? The Catholic Papacy declares all Protestants including Dallas "Accursed/Anathema". The Mormon's founder, Joseph Smith JR. declared all Christians regardless of denomination apostates following a corrupted Bible. So who's Jesus are we getting? And considering that even Dallas acknowledges the show is 95% fiction, how is this honoring God, who commands us to not create imagery of Him? Moving and beautiful yes, but not Spirit led or "Authentic".

@@jesustheking7 Yes! Moreover, its not those the Catholic Papacy deems "Protestants" that aren't Christians, its Catholic's that are not Christians. They declare a different Gospel, a different Mary, and a different salvation based off of allegiance to the Papacy, Works, Merit and mediation of Saints. Not to mention the pagan Mass, whereby they re-sacrifice Christ weekly and then believe they literally eat Him. Nothing has killed more Christians than the Catholic Church.

That day I returned my children to God the Lord Almighty because they were His anyway And I put God Jesus and the spirit above all in my heart my home and my spirit. Since then things have gotten a lot better. My one problem has been forgiving myself for all the sins I have committed. But my Priest one day pull me up off my knees and said you need to forgive yourself do you know you’re insulting the Trinity by not accepting their forgiveness and Jesus died for that” that changed everything. @@YaakovBuchner can you explain why someone betrayed Jesus in a film is wrong or at least in this case where you feel like it’s wrong?
@YaakovBuchner6 ай бұрын
@@canadasweetie Because we are commanded not to! We are not at liberty to create imagery of the Creator of all things. If He wanted us to do so, He would have given His Apostles detailed instructions on how to physically describe Him, the same way He gave Moses detailed instructions on how to create the Ark and the Cherubim on it. We have a jealous God, who is not fond of imagery. Thie Israelites, after being freed from slavery in Egypt, created an image based off of what they had come to know as imagery of a god. Their intention was good, and Moses's brother, helped them. Thousands were put to death for it. The Word of God is sufficient in and of itself! If one requires imagery to make Him more relatable, one might not have a relationship with Him to begin with. Moreover, it is that imagery, that they come to visualize when they pray or read the Bible. Interestingly, the show's creators admit this happens to them. They visualise their show's characters. This is inevitable for many. It is one thing to present theatrical plausibility and assumption when it's fictional characters, another issue when it's the Word of God! "Yeshua said to Him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed? Blessed are the ones who have not seen and yet have believed!” (John 20-29). No matter what we do, no matter how hard we try, the image that we create and put in front of us is a false one. The Gospels give us no visual detail related to what the Son looked like as an incarnate man. Even if we attempt to extrapolate the basic features of a 1st-century Jewish man, we are still guessing. This may not be entirely problematic when painting an image of someone, but we are talking about God. Falsely representing God is a grave sin and one that is directly connected to idolatry in the Old Testament. Even well-meaning attempts that fall short should be avoided, and by definition, any image we make of Jesus falls short. And it is true to say, that many do come to venerate the image itself, which is why the feet of St.Peter at the Vatican are nothing more than nubs after decades of being touched and kissed.

I personally didn’t like it when Jesus was written to say, “So close.” We can follow Christ in many ways. We can witness in our workplace, schools, and community. And as The Chosen clearly demonstrated, we can financially support missionaries. From Scripture it has always seemed to me that Nicodemus did indeed accept Christ and was born again. I haven’t started season two yet, so perhaps there will be more clarity with him and Jesus in The Chosen. Overall though, I think this is a wonderful series!

When a friend first recommended I watch The Chosen, I was reluctant to say the least. I'm a "purist" when it comes to scripture and was opposed to anyone portraying Jesus saying or doing anything that isn't specifically written in the Bible. But because my friend was so excited about it, I decided to watch. I was sure after the first few scenes, I'd turn it off and forget it. Well... here's the thing... I could not turn it off. Not only could I not turn it off, I watch it every chance I get. It is absolutely amazing and renews and refreshes my love for Jesus every time I watch an episode. Without a doubt, the Holy Spirit is clearly in every thought, word, and action. I cannot recommend this series enough for those seeking to know God's heart. Well done Dallas. Well done.

(Psalm 18:30) Perfect means “without flaw.” The Lord is perfect in every way. He is flawless. Being perfect, God is the standard by which everything else will be measured. It would be impossible for God to be imperfect because that would mean that another standard has found a flaw in Him. But whose standard would that be? If there is another standard higher than God’s standard, then that means God is subject to judgment by something else, making that other thing god. Humanity often tries to elevate its own opinions above God’s decrees, thereby implying that He is flawed. Any time someone says, “If I were God, I would do such and such” or “If I were God, I would never do this or that,” he reveals his own haughty spirit, not the imperfection of God. When we judge God by our own standards, we are in effect placing ourselves on His throne. Shalom

I haven’t watched this series yet, but this brilliant interview has revealed to me how Jesus is portrayed in a more personable way than how I have always perceived him. I believe that it is in Genesis that says God is our friend. The humor that is allowed in Jesus’ life makes me feel that a close and acceptable life with Jesus is truly ATTAINABLE. Jesus was in human form, hence, feeling the same emotions that we feel; and humor as well. God is with you in this series and you are right. He is not going to let you screw this up. Gif will bless all of you.

My favorite scene with Jesus so far is the none with disciple little Jameswhen he asks Jesus why he hasn't healed him yet. I sob every time I watch it.

After filming scenes and taking the role of Jesus, both he (Jonathan Roumie) and James Caviezel were confronted with the reality how inadequate they are and God both gave them the virtue of humility which led them to have deep personal conversion and have close personal relationship with God. I love these two Catholic actors.

tacet caritate JC in Passion commands a different level of majesty and pain. I cant wait to see Jonathan progresses in Chosen. It’ll get heavy and sad for us, nevertheless, I wouldn’t miss a thing! Jonathan has truly connected with his character in season 1. He gave us a perfect human jesus.

Jesus is the living God, do you follow and obey him? The Lords jugdement is true, and it is on its way. His Judgements are great, and shall shake all the nations. He shall bring plagues upon nations, and destroy those who did not accept him in the last days. He is seeking for all men to repent of their sin and seek the True, Living God Jesus Christ. Many have already denied him, and reject him everyday. His prophecies and sayings before he was crucified fufill this. He said that he would send his servants to invinte Many to the feast of the Lord, to go to repentance and salvation from sin, but many rejected the calling, and made excuses for not to follow and obey Jesus Christ to the fullest. That is why "Many are called, but few are the elect chosen". Dear friend, repent now, and seek the Living God. Get on your knees and cry out to him, and he will overflow you with forgivness and mercy, because he is Love, and he is the definition of forgiveness. God shall not strive with man forever dear friends, the more you go away from him, and keep on doing what you want to do, you will die in your sins. Seek Jesus Today, he answers prayers of the pure in heart and blesses the wicked who repent with true remorse. May Jesus Bless you

James Caviezal's career in Hollywood pretty much ended after the Passion, Hollywood doesn't like Catholics or positive portrayals of Jesus.

@@johnbemery7922 James Caviezel found Somebody greater than anybody in Hollywood; he found Jesus and would not trade Him with all of them adding the glamour of evil and shallowness of that place.

The way you portray the humanity of Jesus reminds me of a line from Michael Card’s, “The Nazarene”, “The fact of his humanity was there for all to see. He was unlike any other man and yet so much like me”. Thank you for portraying this so well!

when Jonathan is talking about his personal experiences around the 30 min mark made a strong thought pop into my head, all those roles and other projects he was doing was for preparation to be the face of Jesus, everything we go through is an opportunity to polish ourselves. The Lord knew how important this upcoming project was and he needed the best guy for the job, and now, who else could have played Jesus in this series?

I avoided watching any blooper videos or any videos regarding the actors until now, for I was so enraptured in the flawless portrayal of Jesus (Im not even a Christian and have never read the Bible) and so moved by the journey of his life on Earth that I didnt want anything to take away from how deeply affected I was by witnessing these Gospels stories. Thank you from the depths of my heart for bringing this to the modern day world!

@@YaakovBuchnerwhy be so judgmental of other religions? :/ is it so bad? That people watch this show and get inspired to connect with our God? I’m genuinely asking because I don’t understand the harm in it. I grew up going to mass every Sunday, got baptized made my communion and confirmation, I’ve had a relationship with God since I could remember, unfortunately not everyone is raised like you or I, (I’m assuming you’ve also grown up devoted to your religion so if i got that wrong I do apologize) so for a lot of people who have no faith, from what I’ve seen this show has pushed them to seeking and learning more about God, so I guess I’m just not understanding the point you are trying to make, I’m sorry.

@@kristy1827I agree with you. We cannot convert people of other religions with our own efforts. That’s the work of the Holy Spirit. We just pray for them and be a model of our Christian faith.
