Fantastic finds as always. I love seeing what you find. The Cribs collections looks really good. That Santana record is on of my favorites. Great finds!

Hi Russ. I'm a fan of the Cribs. I actually bought 'Payola' on vinyl when it came out. Nice to have it on CD too. The energy in early Santana is amazing. Such a pity that the early line-up didn't last longer ... Your recent thrift store finds were pretty amazing. It's not easy to pick up quality vinyl here in the UK in charity shops.

That Disraeli gears is a great find ! The original 1967 vinyl release was on the Reaction Label ,i think also distributed by polydor at the time , sinmilar to the Track record label had a mono copy of DG in a lot of records I am selling with someone at the moment and it sounded pretty good , especially hearing mono versions of the songs !

Hi Jamie. The Cream 'Disraeli Gears' remaster from 1997 sounds good enough on CD. The packaging lets it down though; nowadays you'd get a quality booklet and extra tracks. I bet 'Disraeli Gears' sounds wonderful on an original mono vinyl pressing ... I still remember that Marc Bolan single you were selling for a friend.

Hi John. I didn't realise you had another channel. I like old movies too. Do you have access to the Talking Pictures TV channel? You can join up for free on their website if you don't get it on your TV ... There were a few edits in there; but I'm getting better at doing the edits ... If you look in the description to the video, I include notes on all the CDs featured. All the best, Carl

Hi Carl, great detail, thanks, and also in the notes below. Stand outs for me Graham Parker, Santana and I’d love to hear that Inspiral’s album. Great value CD’s from the charity shops now. Mike

Hi Mike. You're the first person to mention the notes ... I love Graham Parker. Steve Schnee's channel went through Parker's entire catalogue a few months ago ... The Inspiral Carpets' album is surprisingly good. It's like they never went away. Some nice liner notes from all of the band too, saying how much they enjoyed doing another record.

Hi Brian. I was thinking of you earlier, as I'd mentioned the Auteurs' album to you a few days ago. I'll be watching your latest video later in the evening. It keeps popping up as a recommended video ... Thanks for the compliment. We have a similar presentation style - trying to summarise a record in a few words, rather than just showing it or just saying it's great.

@@carltweed942 Well, sometimes I do say it's great, etc., especially when I am lost for words. I aspire to achieve your level of description. My new strategy was going to be to say either "this is fantastic" or "this sucks." You know, keep it simple 😀

Hi Steve. Thanks for commenting. I saw Jack Bruce live a few years ago. Of course he played a few Cream tracks ... There is a band/album from the early 80's I like - The Prisoners 'The wisermiserdemelza'. The back sleeve was inspired by 'Disraeli Gears'. Some of the music has influences from Cream and very early Deep Purple. All the best from the UK, Carl

@@rallstonianmusicreport1975 A bit of a mixed bag, which is inevitable when you pick up CDs from a charity shop (thrift store), but all of the ones I showed have some redeeming features. I'll certainly be keeping all of them. I love checking out on KZbin other people's finds. Cheers, Carl

Hi Graham. I have to do a lot of digging to find the interesting CDs. Have you seen my two latest charity shop videos (#17 and #18)? There are a few proggy finds which you might be interested in, such as 'Rite' (Julian Cope & Donald Ross Skinner), and 'What Now?' (Peter Hammill). All the best, Carl

Mark Lanegan is someone I need to investigate more. I had some Screaming Trees stuff on SST, but found it average psyche rock. They actually improved when shifting to a major label imo. ‘Dollar Bill’ is a fantastic tune. Some of his solo stuff sounds great. Apparently ‘Bubblegum’ is a good one. Yeah I’m discovering Santana recently. Really enjoying it. Strangely I’ve very little knowledge of The Auteurs, despite them being everywhere in 92/93. Maybye Suede stole their crown? Things were really based on hype back then. Some amazing CD’s around right now often for 50 pence!

Hi Harris. I quite liked Screaming Trees, but they had a lot of competition from the grunge-era bands. He really came into his own later on. His work with Isobel Campbell is special ... It's a coincidence that you were talking about Santana's third album at the same time as I was talking about their second. Sadly their classic lineup starts to disintegrate after this album ... Suede definitely had the music weeklies behind them ... I've already listened to a big pile of recent finds.

CDs for a quid or less are great especially in car listening. Lanegan I caught twice before he died wish I'd tried him more now with his gravelly grumblings of Biblical extortion and corruption.

Hi Martin. "Gravelly grumblings of Biblical extortion and corruption" - that's a punchy summary of Mark Lanegan. There are some artists you don't realise how special they were until they have passed away. P.S. I checked out pre-Wet Leg Rhain; she was clearly a star in waiting for a few years.
