Apollo a huge tip for combat in this mod, your men must be stationary you try to charge in units that then get out flanked or triple teamed. Mabey try setting up a line of spears, have your swords behind or vice versa the Ai will charge only parts of your line and you can envelop them. When I first played this campaign I was the same way I thought bc I knew total war it would be a walk in the park the modding team did a great job re working and balancing everything. Morale is huge in this mod as you may know but for the campaign it’s been reworked completely, it’s not like most total wars where one unit will hold against hordes you must support units or have a strong spear/pike/halberd line. That can hold while cav, and swords move around the flanks. Just my two sense. I love your videos. I am about to start a new campaign as England, as is I just finished uniting the Byzantines and taking all of Jerusalem.

Cav is absolutely infuriatingly weak even fighting crossbows. I’m disgusted every time I watch this mod and see the heavy French Knights losing to peasant archers in direct combat. That alone is rendering this nearly unplayable.

FrozenmenBG yeah, he’s “noob” at a game he has been playing for many years that his channel is based on, that makes sense. No, the cav is just weak as hell. Literally watch with your own eyes as it gets slaughtered in 1v1 melee with crossbows multiple times.

@@AegonTheUnlikely dude. Not all sport commentators are good at sports. Shock cav is so strong People in Multiplayer got rules for max 4 with ultra funds and with 40 units per player. Apollo wasted all his good cards in the Campaign and doing so bad moves it hurts my eyes. His cav is weak and low on Hp when charging range unit head on in collum and keeping cav in melee. I know what im saying.

That's just the difficulty setting, so AI is a cheating bastard. You can see in the plentiful Apollo's multiplayer replays that cavalry wipes the floor in this mod.

FrozenmenBG nah you don’t know what you’re saying. EVERY video I’ve seen has peasant archers raping heavily armored cav. That should not happen. Also your analogy with a sports commentator makes no sense and is irrelevant as sports commentators are not actively playing the game every time they commentate. Him being a “noob” or not (which he clearly is not, though is playing casually) is also irrelevant to how weak the cav units are when they fight another unit 1v1

I get the sense you are not very familiar with Atilla. You need to arrange trade agreements with everyone. Many of your neighbors will even pay you (large amounts of $) to obtain trade agreements and/or non-aggression pacts. Then you need to assign your political members to whatever offices are available in order to increase your income, happiness, and production. If you were doing those two minor things, you would easily have 2-3x your current income and your happiness issues would be much less severe. You also wouldn't have so many pretenders if you were assigning unhappy generals to political offices so that they gained loyalty. Additionally, as far as battlefield tips go, fatigue has a much larger impact on units fighting ability and morale in Atilla than in other TW games, so you need to keep your men fresh for as long as possible. The 1212AD mod makes it so your men get fatigued quicker and take longer to recover than in the base game, so you have to be mindful. The AI has also been reworked a bit to encourage them to protect their archers, so getting 1-2 cav into the enemy rear usually isn't enough to destroy their entire skirmisher line (even though that works in the base game).
