Author Charles Beaty "Prince of Poachers" sits down with Christian Babcock to share untold stories of rattling up bucks, escaping the law, and poaching deer off the world famous King and Kenedy Ranches. We DO NOT support any form of poaching, but these stories are nothing short of remarkable.
-
Check out his book here:

-
Charles is attempting to donate 2% of sales to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. He also left over 50 books with Christian to donate to the Williamson County Jail so prisoners can read the book and hear his testimony.
-
Pat Lane is donating a portion of sales to his daughters school, 501C3 non-profit, the Children's Oasis Foundation. childrensoasisfoundation.org/

Poaching was a part of my life as a young man. I was raised by a bunch of old outlaws. We're from the true south. Florida is a sportmans paradise. Hell I didn't realize what we was doing till I was like 12. And I don't do it much as an adult. But once and a while I get dropped off for a while. Last time I did I killed 14 large bucks. A lot of people don't think it's right and get jealous and mad, but we can't help that new laws force us to be outlaws to live the way we were raised.

I got more respect for the outlaws on those big ranches than any yahoo who pays big money to shoot half tame deer off of high fence ranches and deer farms. That's just plain lame. BTW, I worked with a guy in south Texas who used to do exactly what this guy did. He's sneak in, cold camp and rattle up big bucks on big ranches. I firmly believe in conservation and game laws, but I also know that in Texas 98% of the land is private and not everyone can spend thousands of dollars to hunt deer. For deer hunting to be available only to those that can afford it is wrong. Those deer belong to everyone. This isn't Robin Hood where only the king is allowed to hunt. Where I lived in south Texas the county I hunted in started that ridiculous minimum antler spread. I never followed that. Shot the buck I wanted to shoot.

My mom had 10 brothers and sisters, hunting ment a whole different thing to them! They were feeding 12 people and more at a time. Deer were a food source, not trophies. They followed the harvest of potatoes, carrots and fruits. They always had lots of laying hens, they also raised fat chickens and pigs. My grandmother used to feed the railroad transients from their town. Any fruit trees were picked clean and put up. They always went up to Michigan to pick mushrooms. That’s how they survived the depression with all of the kids. I started hunting with them when I was 4, I was the dog. This was the way. Trump 2024!

I used to trespass in my teenage years and into my early twenties during daylight hours on people's land that they never stepped foot on. Killed and saw many big bucks. I mostly watched deer most of the season until the right one came along. I gotta say it was very fun and exciting. The people that owned the land never knew those deer were even there, they just knew they didn't want anybody to step foot on their land and they never did either.

Back in the 1600-1700’s when the kings of European countries claimed all the land and all the game for themselves and made hunting on the kings land punishable by death they were starving their countrymen. husbands fathers and sons took to sneaking around labeled as “poachers” taking game to feed their families. There’s honest poaching and trophy poaching. And then there’s making an example out of kings by the countrymen. Im proud to hear these stories.

He is a lucky S.O.B. There are a shitload of tough good old boy deer hunters, that would give up body parts to have the access to unhunted lands that he was blessed with. Crack a set of antlers here in NH the deer will just know where you are. You have to hunt harder and take smaller. There is no such thing as them running in at you. Your best bet is a good cover of snow and stay on it until you get it.
