Interesting to see the "lizards" in the cave. I had no idea they were there. Great work.

There's a few decent options in the Hoosier state. That little cave was the highlight of our day!

We did the peninsula trail last weekend. Both parking lots were full when we got there but there was no-one camping on the Peninsula when we got out there! The weather was amazing so we were pleasantly surprised to find we had the peninsula to ourselves. I would like to go check out the cave sometime. Thanks for sharing!

Nice! I've only kayak camped out there. How did the trail look after all the tornado damage from last year?
@HooksandHammocks
@HooksandHammocks 3 жыл бұрын
@@SlonesWildernessExpeditions definitely a lot of damage but it is in just about 100 or 200 yard stretch of the trail about a mile or so from the end of the trail. I captured most of the damage area on my video if you wanna check it out. The did a good job of cutting a trail through it.

I would have actually liked to crawl all the way through, but we took our packs off at the front of the cave and I just didn't trust the group of "good ol' boys" that were hanging out there! Maybe next time.

Love those old pine forests!! I'd take that view even with a couple noisy neighbors..... 😃 Hey, you guys have skunk apes??!! That cave is so cool..... I thought I heard Bigfoot....😳 Yikes, that is getting a little tight! Oh, that little guy was soo cute! Well, I think you had a great adventure right in Indiana! 😀❣

It certainly turned into a good adventure! I prefer this wilderness in the spring, before everything has grown up and the wildflowers are in bloom. May go back in the fall when leaves change colors!

I can feel the claustrophobia setting in as you guys got deeper and deeper, lol.

Haha yeah! I wanted to crawl all the way through, but a) Catfish doesn't like getting wet, and b) we left our packs in the front of the cave where a group of guys were chilling at, and I wasn't so sure I trusted them 🤷‍♂️

Wow, love the adventure, but .....ooh, I don't think my claustrophobia would allow me to do that.😂 Loved the video.

Nice video. I don't know much about the hiking opportunities in Indiana but it looks very good. They planted a lot of pines in Florida too after logging the virgin cypress and oak forest. I don't think they did it to stabilize the soil but rather for the turpentine industry. Now we have pine forest in North Florida that stretch for miles. Seems you and catfish had a good time.

Thanks! Yes, we've visited Florida a number of times, seen the scars left behind from the turpentine industry. I never really thought about them planting the pine in place of the cypress or oak forests though!

Thank you sir! When I filmed that spider, at first I assumed it was a cave cricket. My mistake, LOL!

Nice video! I belong to A club of outlaw cavers, my profile picture is me coming out of Patton cave on top of the hill(you have it on this video). You know you are not allowed to go into any caves in Charles Deam Wilderness. Guess that makes you guy's outlaw cavers also !!! There's two more caves in Deam, you won't find them, and no one will tell you where there at. You want a cool video hit up Onondaga cave in Missouri. You guy's keep up the good work on these video's !

As much as I'd like to be an outlaw caver, the Hoosier National Forest only bans entering caves from Sept. 1 - April 30, so we were legal, LOL. I bet you have a lot of fun finding all the caves!
