Hoping to lose a few subscribers. Original recording was done on a cheap tape recorder so I thickened the audio with reverb & EQ. Why was this flagged for copyright claiming Leonard Cohen is the writer? The owner of ESP Disk can felate me severely

Damn, I wrote a paper about Mr. Manson in one of my Criminal Justice classes and played this song after my presentation, I found it funny that people were asking me where they could purchase this song. Once they found out who it was they changed their minds.... I LOVE THIS SONG

Charlie's biggest problem was Charlie. If he'd stayed cool with Terry instead of trying to bully him, he may have had a record deal with at least an acquaintance of Terry. Terry didn't need him but a producer friend of his might....once he knew Charlie better, he didn't want anything to do with him.

Manson was an incredibly complex character. I agree with more of what he says than disagree. Like Ted Kaczynski, you see these incredibly powerful intellectual minds driven over the brink towards violence because they simply can’t be understood. In Manson’s case I think this was compounded by being surrounded with supportive groupies who probably treated him and introduced into him that he was Jesus.

Like it or not he got what he wanted in the end, fame, he will probably be remembered for as long as United States exist, he is featured in movies and probably more to come in future. Students of Criminal Justice, Law, Psychology, Behavior Science etc will study about him, take exams about him, pundits will analyze him. Some people for generations to come will continue to like and adore him, don't go far and just take a look at this comment section alone (also look at the views on this video alone) and you can tell there are some people out there who adores him. In the end, he won, he got the trophy he wants. Nobody will remember you in the next 100 years, not him, his name will ever be prevalent.

He was obvious framed to make the hippie scene seem like it's getting violent. Also Charlie is very intelligent and was an influence on people and has IQ in the hundreds and authority doesn't like that. I don't think he was an angel, but not a murderer. And he didn't even commit the murders, not to mention its ridiculous to think he brainwashed them into killing the victims.
@LipziG3R
@LipziG3R 7 жыл бұрын
And you know all of that from ....??? Hitler also did not commit murders himself ... he ... just ordered it and it was done. That doesn't make it better ... What should be so ridiculous about "brainwashing" people into doing bad things in their name? This song is beautiful and I don't doubt that he could and maybe is very smart. But still - Saying he was just tricked or something by the "authorities" doesn't sound very convincing ...

Lipziger why can't people be responsible for their own actions? They said he used LSD to control the Family lol, LSD doesn't work that way and everyone would know that if they didn't buy into the government lie that psychedelics are drugs and dangerous! All the other Family member were younger, whacked out of their minds on meth, driving around killing and robbing! Manson has even said he didn't take those drugs or do any of that but what could he do about their actions he's not a cop! You can find the videos of the statements and interviews here, once individual family members started getting arrested they started spinning wild stories and pointing the finger at everyone! I think Susan Atkins was the one in charge and I think she spun the story of oh Charlie is older he's in charge, I'm not sure Manson really knew exactly what was going on! Manson had been to prison so to him this must have seemed like a wild joke and probably thought he'd be released soon, go and watch interviews, listen to what Charles Manson ACTUALLY SAYS!

It's hard to say, Bill. I'm not sure how impressionable I would be on LSD, but I do remember losing a lot of control over the way I acted and handled some situation that would have otherwise been easy and routine. I especially remember being totally useless as a bandleader one night, though I could still play. These people had totally given themselves to Charlie and worshipped his every word - I think I can see how the addition of LSD to the mix could further strip them of whatever remained of their individuality. Interesting point for discussion, for sure.

I think you can hear this and understand how a genius like Brian Wilson would have been mesmerized, and maybe understand better how Manson get mixed up with the Beach Boys. As an empath, I dont hate Manson, it just makes me sad for everybody involved.

This is one of my all time favorite songs. He is an amazing person and artist, songwriter, singer and guitar player. I will always have a special place for C.M in my heart. I´we read just about everything there is to read about what happened those nights and HIM as a human being. He is a unique person who has done nothing wrong. This song makes both my dog and I relax in such a strong way. It´s a true masterpiece! And by the way; Isn´t it AGAINST the law to imprison an innocent man?

If only Terry Melcher had given Manson that record deal. If only. That's what really set him off. He knew the system was backstabbing, then he got his hopes up and the system backstabbed him again. He had had enough of it. Understandable, but not condoned

While the majority of his output was rough, I still gladly put this and "Cease to Exist" on for friends as I let them guess who it is. Even after the novelty, we can still enjoy them as standalone songs. The man is a monster, but those two gems deserved the Beach Boys (Cease to Exist) and Axl Rose (this) covers they received.

He participated in the Shorty Shea killings. He shot Bernard Crowe and left him for dead. I bet he looked cute doing all those things.

Yes, he went through lots of fucked up shit growing up. No one should have to live a life like that. But he turned into a psychopath. All he wants is to have people under his power and see how far they can be manipulated. He doesn't understand death, pain, suffering... I don't know if he ever did.

Eh. I guess. It's a slippery slope nonetheless. People like Manson are a gift and curse to the world. They're highly sensitive to their surroundings, and given the wrong sort of upbringing and path in life, can either achieve greatness, or take the path of ruin, becoming even far worse than Charles. Those who, in some way or another, happen to come in across such people or their stories, may so easily lose themselves. Remember! You have just one life to live, your own, and won't get another chance. Make the best of it, and whatever happens be kind and honest to yourself. Don't waste your love and affection on those who use others for their own purposes. That is what became of his charisma. A person who succumbed to his insanity and became some sort of monster able to manipulate others with a deceitful charm.

Thats not in any way to trivalise the murders , the ones with blood on there hands should be punished to the full extent of the law. If this happened in the uk he would never have had such a stiff sentence. Charlie if you ever get access to the internet and read this I just want you to know I get you. peace and love.
