Hey GenZ! I don't think it is the most interesting and fun app to use, but I actually like that. Robinhood was TOO GOOD and I kept compulsively checking it and spending time on it. That doesn't really help me as a buy and hold investor, lol. This does the job if I'm on the go and just want to buy something after getting a deposit.

Hey Kelly, depending on the size of your inheritance, you might want to hire someone to help you manage it. However, I personally am convinced there is no need to put any thought beyond putting everything in an S&P 500 index fund. Live off the dividends, sell whatever you want when you need it. Paying someone to manage it is just money you are losing for someone to manage your money on average worse than the market average. I highly recommend this book to learn about index investing. amzn.to/2ziFWEr

Open a Roth Contributory IRA as well with Schwab if you want to buy and hold stocks long term it’s a better option ... NO tax on gains unless you withdraw before you’re 62 and you can sell and trade regularly as well within the Roth with NO tax on gains. I opened my Schwab ROTH a week ago and I’ve already hit a 10% gain buying and selling the same day ... it’s a rinse and repeat process.

Could you do a video on selling ? I am not sure as I read conflicting accounts of what happens. Say I have StockA, sell it where does the money go, and how long does it stay. Looked around the Charles Schwab site and didn't see anything clear. I get how fund get in an purchase. But when you sell where does it go? And what happens, how much time to buy in , does time run out... ? I am really new to this. Really enjoy your approach so far everything make sense. But can't figure this part out. Hey P C! When you sell a stock, it is at the agreed upon price between two brokers for the prices the owners wanted. If I own stocks in Apple and they are held in my Schwab brokerage account, then I sell them to a private individual buying them from a Robinhood account, the brokers move the funds first to the buyer and sellers and the stocks actually take a couple days to officially settle in the accounts.

Hey Steve! I made a video breaking down taxes on investments. Short answer is you pay your normal marginal tax rate on just the profit if you held the stock for less than 1 year. If you held it longer than 1 year, then you probably are paying a flat 15%. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nn7TZI15jpV2o8k

I am currently using Robinhood and I really like the fact that when you pull up a stock from your portfolio you can see the entire history of transactions/trades for that stock: buys, sells, dividends, etc., even canceled/unfilled orders. Does Schwab's app offer anything close to that?

Hey Gio! Yep, you have a settlement fund of uninvested cash. You can either select to re-invest dividends and buy fractional shares, or you can have the dividends just deposit in to your settlement fund.

You absolutely can! Once you create an account, you can call and work with Schwab to start the process of rolling over your holdings from a different broker. Just got to fill out a form I believe.

Hey Maxim! You sure can change that. On your account positions page, click the gear icon that says settings. The check the box that says "reinvest?" to show your reinvest preference for each stock holding. You can flip it to yes or no now.

Yes, you can do it on the app. Just enter a decimal amount (like .05) in the amount you want to buy and it will give you the dollar estimate cost.

Hey AS! No, there is not a minimum amount to deposit, but the first time you fund your account you might have to wait 2 business days for the funds to settle. Enable margin and then you won't have to wait in the future.

Hello, great video! I'M new to using the Charles Schwab app on my samsung phone. I can easily set a price alert on a stock using my laptop, but I absolutely cannot find where to do it in the app- though I 've tried! They all say, "From the Alerts Menu (WHICH I CANNOT FIND), click, "create alert", Duh. So please, tell me Exactly how to set an alert in the Charles Schwab mobile app. I know how to do it, I just can-t find it in the app! Thank you in advance!

Schwab announced it will only be S&P 500 stocks right now. They will add small cap stocks and ETFs soon.

He El Padrino. Fractional shares are coming to Schwab in June, you can own individual stocks at the cost of $5 a stock if you want. But in the meantime you can just buy an S&P 500 index ETF like VOO or SPY.

Hey Crabtree! I have never tried to do extended hours trading on the app, but if you have it enabled, I do not see why you wouldn't be able to do it.

I just opened an investment account, how would I add funds to it if I do not have a Schwab bank account, rather I have one at a credit union?

Hey Sean, you need to link whatever bank account you have at a credit union to your schwab brokerage account. You can also just get the free Schwab checking account and do direct deposit with your employer. You also if you get the checking account can do mobile deposit of a check you write to yourself.

@@JakeBroe Thank you. I just linked the external account to my Schwab account and transferred money from the external to the Schawb and it says completed. However, the date says for 5/5/20 but it is currently 5/4/20. Do I need to wait until this day for the funds to appear in my Schawb investment account or do I need to wait for 3 days?
