Well on top of being an excellent player he has literally a perfect bass that's made in Germany that are hand made and therefore the best materials are used and the neck and fret jobs is absolutely masterful. The action is insanely low without any fret buzz and the pick up spacing id perfect the bridge is perfect the tuners are perfect. The neck is thin as absolute fuck. It's literally a perfect bass. Way better than a piece of shit Fodera. Also Charles has some decent sized hands unlike Victor wooten. Ever notice how Victor's playing is dirty and not very clear like Charles almost like he's missing alot of notes espesh when playing fast.. thats partly due to his tiny ass hands. I shook the man's hand once and I was baffled. It honestly gave me hope in life to carry on playing bass lol. Thanks for reading all this but.. the ultimately number one main reason Charles sounds so good and clear is because he's a certified pro and God tier. 100 million hours play time

Probably the only way to “fix” the tone would be to use a pitch shifter so you could slide down a bit..Gets a bit tinny(ofc because of the bass being fret less so I guess it’s a trade off🤔) Just got into Primus in the last 2 months or so and picked my bass up for the first time in over a decade😂Still prefer guitar, maybe going to try a bit of slap🤔
