Considering Victor’s work with kids’ camps and as an ambassador for the instrument, I can’t help but imagine that he is happy to see the capability of the bass pushed, possibly even further, by someone citing him as an inspiration. I think it’s neat to see someone like Victor push the human potential further, and then see others build on that foundation. I mean the following with utmost respect: you are a talented musician having the benefit of standing on the shoulders of this giant. Your accomplishments are your own, and your brilliance is undeniable-but it’s impossible to overstate how amazing Victor’s accomplishments are, and the debt that next-gen virtuosos owe him. Keep in mind that very high level playing means years of development. Enjoy the journey.

I could list more, but since I’m a ‘60 y/o’ multi-instrumentalist most of my life beginning at age 4 on classical piano. I figured it out. Charles is actually a bass guitar in disguise. That's how he's able to play so impeccably.

I never really got that ''battle'' stuff, it sounds super retarded to me like kids measuring their weiner at that point cant we call for collaboration or anything along a more harmonious, constructive and positive line ?
@jukka29793 жыл бұрын
@@patcaza6166 i think most people realize it's more of a collaboration, naming it bass battle just defines better what kind of a collab it is: a duet with turns

I just had my first tongue kiss listening to this beautiful piece of art, it was in part 14, "chordal tapping". Thank you, Charles, besides being a big inspiration for me to start playing bass, it's a really good cupid, lol.

Bro, thank you very for this video, the way you relax with the instrument is incredible is like it becomes an extension of yourself, bravo my man you are one a of kind!!!

I can’t imagine a world where people would thumb this performance down. I certainly would not want to live in it. Bravo Charles 👏👏👏👍

Your playing was FAR superior to his live performance. He has a ton of string noise, buzzing, and sloppy movements. Obviously he gets props for creating it, but some of your originals are equally beautiful and technically challenging. Bottom line, you are easily the greatest bass player I've ever listened to period. Your technique is flawless yet emotional. A really rare combo. I sure wish you would venture out into a Trio and tour or at least some recordings with top players. Anyone would be a fool not to have you on their record.

Please listen original again and dont pay attention on the “noises” Just feel the song and you will see that victor is the master of feeling

This is scarcely believable. At the same time, no patch on the original. Charles, you are going to one of the greatest of all time, and recognised as such. I'll just be very proud to be from your generation and among those who "discovered" you.

I enjoyed yours more than Victor Wootens solos because your solo's in my opinion are more articulated, clarified and your dexterity is better. No dissing or taking away from Victor Wooten as he's as a legend in his own right. You make it seem more effortless. Both Bassist and Guitar players would so love to have what you so effortless pull off. Your Energy input into what you do is infectious and exciting with a great sense of adventure. But also on the other hand you make me and others feel like we can do it also. You're very encouraging and inspiring to say the least.
