Benny was a national treasure. When I was a kid, I got his autograph at an event in Valley Forge. He had a huge smile on his face and he was just super happy and friendly with everybody... a genuinely great guy

Benny would've been 80 today. I started watching NASCAR in 2004 and only got to enjoy BP in the booth for a few years before he passed away, but race coverage truly isn't the same without him. May Benny's memory live on forever.

Remember a Nascar game where benny would say "This track has the best food" no matter where you were at ! Always wondered if it was a little shot at a fellow that enjoys a meal, 5:45 makes me smile because I enjoy a good feed as well : ]

I use to love watch Buffet Benny. You know the very best places to eat close to the track. That’s for sure.

A big part of the success of NASCAR was Bob, Ned and Benny. The race coverage pales in comparison today . The ratings reflect that .

The best commentary team ever! Does anyone have the clip where Benny was standing with the trophy girl that was 6' 3" anticipating Mark Martins win? It was so funny when Mark stood next to her, and Benny was cracked up by it!

I am 6’1” I within 3 foot of Mark Martin I was shocked how small he was. But a great guy he very hard to beat as a nice person. I still think the world of Mark Martin how nice & good he was to me.

Talk about a great time. I would love in his younger years to of gone with Benny to Hooters or that type place with him & have few a beers with Benny. I bet he have everybody rolling in the floor laughing. I meet a lot other Drivers & Owners & Team Members but I only saw him at a distance but never did meet him.

Thanks for sharing! I will respectfully disagree with the late Larry Nuber about the Talladega crowd. They may be the best NASCAR crowd, but the Indianapolis 500 and the Brazilian Grand Prix have the most responsive crowds in all of auto racing, and I would say in all of sports.
