I visited Charlestown a few years ago while on holiday, it was very interesting, I learned about it’s history, there’s a maritime museum there, the whole visit was a great experience

😂when I lived in Tywardreath I used to go there quite often with my father. I hope it's renovated properly.

As a kid on holiday in the 1970s I watched them bring in and turn ships through there to be loaded with china clay. Its the kind of thing that had to be seen to be believed.

Nice coffer dam, I could do with the bottom half of one container to make a pool to dip in when it's 30d and 75 humidity here in Vietnam.

A creative use of what looks like a shipping container. Hope the renovation of the gates goes to plan.

I assume this is a temporary arrangement whilst new gates are being manufactured

They've built a temporary cofferdam out of 40 foot ISO containers. They fill them with water and add grout round the edges to seal the gate then they can dewater the dock and have a dry working environment in which to install the new gates. Clever bit of recycling of old containers in my book!
