14:40 The area between the small buildings and the War Graves is the burial ground of over 1100 men, women and children from the former Whalley asylum and latterly Caldershaw Hospital. I think directly in fron were the graves of babies. Developers removed what grave markers existed as they intended to eventually build on it. I think campaigners successfully opposed and believe the plan has now been shelved.

Ooh I never realised there was a memorial for Kohima. Kohima was a battle in India near the Burmese border, where Britain defeated the Japanese. Imphal was another key battle of the British fightback against the Japanese in the Asian theatre. Most of those battles are forgotten, as they took place around the same time as the Normandy landings, or are overshadowed by the humiliation of Singapore. But it's worth reading about as loads of bloody battles took place. Gurkhas were there, Indian regiments, loads of Scottish and English infantry units, Royal Marine Commandos, General Wingate and the Chindits etc.
