Saliba is literally priceless. If someone wants him then they’d better consider breaking the transfer record. I’m dead serious. Greeting from Chicago. What if the mystery German player is Sane? If we don’t manage to get Nico Williams, Sane could be an option. He has PL experience, knows Arteta, and could be a sub for Saka. Only downside would be his previous injuries but as we seen against us, he seems to just float down the field and has excellent ball control. We know how Arteta respects veteran players like Xhaka, Jorginho, Trossard and Partey. Also could Timber be a Partey replacement? Could that be why on the outside there doesn’t seem to be any rush to sell Partey?
@PaulWard-xn5zgАй бұрын
If we get Merino in he sounds like back up to Declan at 8, this leaves Partey and Jorginho to share the 6….seems a bit thin to me given age and injury records
@JayAllenftwАй бұрын
Of course, that assumes we play in the same way/formation. Judging by past seasons, Magic Mik may very well have another evolution up his sleeve.
@PaulWard-xn5zgАй бұрын
Yeah I also wonder if Mikel might throw in a bit of a curve ball by giving Timber, White or Zinny a try in midfield, unlikely but not impossible
I expect that he could play a similar role to how Xhaka played at 8 with Rice as the 6. He is pretty good passer, decent in front of goal and great in the air.
@VensystemsUkАй бұрын
@@Maxthekillbothis passing stats are really pretty bad for MF, but goal contributions and tackles are high. I think you’re right, like a left 8 in box to box mode, giving defence to LW. I’d Prefer a proper right footed AM like musiala or simons, then only play rice in 6 (where world class)

Hey Charles, If I had to choose one signing to make for less than 70 mil I would definitely go for Olmo from Leipzig. He looked incredible at the Euros and could play out wide on the left/right, in behind the striker at number 10, or in that number 8 spot which could solve multiple issues with one transfer. I would love to see teams who like to sit back against us try to deal with a front line of Kai, Martinelli, and Saka with both Olmo and Odegaard picking out line breaking passes or scoring a goal from range. What are your thoughts on Olmo and the way we could look with him in the squad potentially? Love the content as always!
@taitruong968Ай бұрын
Olmo sounds like an underrated player and may well provide competition to Odegaard that’s a spot we need coverage when he underperforms but his price and wage might be an issue plus he might not want to come just as a rotation player so that’s a hard sell
@guitarfreak888Ай бұрын
No matter who the new England manager is, he needs to get Ben White in as the first choice right back if he wants to unleash Saka's full potential in every England's international fixtures. Only Ben knows how Saka plays week in week out, they are a better partnership than with Kyle Walker and they would form a consistent deadly attack on the right hand side like they have made at Arsenal. If it's to materialize then the new England manager can think next of someone to fit in the Odegaard profile/role to complete the Saka, Odegaard and White triangle on the right hand side.
@BarackAubameyangАй бұрын
There’s no realistic price where it would be worth selling Saliba *at this time*. Even if £150M came in, the club would have to reinvest that money flawlessly. I don’t think the market exists for us to put that money towards any players that would make it worth it. Too risky, too hard to predict how it would throw off the system. Interesting discussion about the Kroenke’s wanting money in, rather than just writing cheques themselves. This isn’t unique to Arsenal…the Nuggets won the NBA Championship in 2023 and since then they’ve lost 2 of the key players from that team (Kentavious Caldwell-Pope & Bruce Brown). Both were allowed to leave as free agents because, had they stayed, the Kroenke’s would’ve had to pay a huge ‘luxury tax’ bill because they would’ve been way over the NBA salary cap.

The thing about this transfer window is that there are lots of players on the list but Arsenal don’t really know which will be best for them. Arteta always focuses on defence first so he’s trying his best to complete the calafiore deal, and also we signed raya and setford. Apart from them i only see us getting cover for midfield. Arteta will most likely focus on using and trusting the bench players now who are forgotten but are good when they play. Like fabio, jesus, jorginho, martinelli (he will be unleashed this year), timber, tomiyasu. Everyone is fit and theyll try to keep them fit as well. And also the academy players might get a chance to join the first team this year. We saw glimpses of some of them in the first training session we just had…
