Not bad at all. They're practically different films. The Johnny Depp version is overall a very accurate representation of the source material while the Gene Wilder version took a ton of creative liberties to the point of actually upsetting the author Roald Dahl. Both are great films for different reasons, but I don't think it's fair to stack up one against the other. Personally I prefer the new one - it's gorgeous and has an awesome soundtrack.

0:33 It was made as a passion project to pay homage to the original 1964 book. The 1971 movie is infamously a SUPER inaccurate book adaptation, and Roald Dahl (the author) hated it as a result. It was also a Quaker Oats commercial and failed at the box office. The 2005 was made as close to the original book as possible, with the added Wonka backstory. Roald Dahl’s estate had full creative control over the 2005 movie and his widow even had a producing credit.

I had the PC version of this game as a kid. And the phrase “Luminous Lollis” are just etched into my brain

0:03- Admittedly I don’t love the original movie. I didn’t like the songs, I found Wonka to be more annoying than charming, there were several scenes that just felt pointless, and overall I just felt the movie was annoyingly nonsensical.

Peronally, I like the Tim Burton adaptation more

PS2 graphics scare me. I play the Indiana Jones emperor's tomb and there's a scene were he's reading a book but when he turns the pages he doesn't even use his hands. I've seen black paper trees and it's so scary.

Although the game is horrendous, the graphics kind of have a nostalgic feel to them.
