You stood by him all these years. That is such an awsome love story ! I don't know if you where married to him during the War, but that must have been horrible. GOD BLESS YOU! Guys, Charlie wasa studio musician for years. He played on albums for Bob Dylan and many others. He played fiddle, bass, banjo, mandolin and was a really fine guitar player. In fact Charlie was mostly seen on guitar for a long time. Then he injured himself putting in fencing on his place. His shirt sleeve got caught in the auger while digging post holes and tore up his arm and hand. Some months later he was still unable to play guitar, but he could hold a fiddle bow, so he started playing more fiddle. The song was written by songwriter/journalist Dan Daley in 1981 and the album by CDB was released in 82. Daley had not served, but knew people who did.

My parents had a friend who was in Vietnam. The 3 of them were at a bar in the late 80s and they were eating some steak and this song came on and somehow triggered the friend into a flashback to him thinking he was still in Vietnam during the time he was face to face with a Viet Cong soldier. He called my mom some words that cannot be said on this page and went after my mom with a steak knife. Mom just brought her fist back and punched him in the nose laying him out of the floor to which is where he woke up on. The guy's 1st words he said were what happened and was mom okay. Dad told him that he had a flashback and mom had punched him. My parents were told by that friend to actually punch him if he did go into a trance/flashback. He passed on due to side affects of chemicals issues during his time in the war. May his soul find piece and comfort.

Could be that, or could be the vocal melody in Blondie's "Call Me." - Keith

@@BourbonCountryReacts yes Blondie "Call Me" right around 54 seconds in....As soon as I heard the riff here I started humming it in my head and had to double check. Shocker for me was that Blondie's song was released two years before this came out in 1982

Can I bribe you with pabst blue ribbon beer? No, I’m Joking. I don’t think they make it anymore. I looked on a website that will deliver to your address And found one where it said you go pick it up at a store if i pay for it. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to afford it or not but one of these days I’m gonna surprise y’all so you will play “Mr. Lincoln” by Hank Williams Jr. ..there was only one reaction video on KZbin I’ve found to the song.

Ok, Holly (one of our regular viewers) was kind of innovative. She placed an order for us to pick up at a shop very close. If shipping is a problem, you can place an order for pickup for us at: Vine & Table 313 E Carmel Dr. Carmel, IN 46032 You'll have to make sure you get our attention in the comments to go pick it up, though.
