The most right-wing, most conservative position on those topics is also not the mainstream. It's not where most people are. So, now - most Americans want immigration laws to be enforced. Most Americans want - don't want illegal immigrants taking our jobs. Most Americans want, you know, basically want gun rights. But if you're truly conservative on these issues, you most likely take that farther. I know I certainly do. You take that principle farther than the mainstream does. I had conservative anti choice friends (until about 5 years ago) who have protested about a number of these types of issues. What I find ironic is, before they got married, the husband told me he had never intended or had any desire to marry his then fiance and was very distressed about it. I realized when their first child was born about 3 months after they got married why they had to get married so fast. These anti choice types say if you don't want a baby, then keep your legs together. It seems that an unplanned pregnancy out of wedlock would be right out. I also find it interesting that the wife miscarried a future pregnancy. She likely had to use the very same drug that the anti choice crowd wants banned outright.

I was raised religious so I absolutely understand where the pro-life movement is coming from on the emotional level. The problem is that their position requires women to give birth even in cases of untenable pregnancies, and that's just cruelty. it's not meant to be cruel but it's the only way it manifests. These laws have no exceptions in cases of rape or incest, and even in the case of miscarriage, they want a committee to sign off before a doctor is allowed to administer treatment. All that's going to do is cause problems. and we've already seen the problems emerge in real time. It's like these super early heartbeat bills. A fetus is viable at the absolute earliest at 22 weeks gestation, with medical deficits, and thats at the bleeding edge of our medical knowledge. with our best efforts even then it's not guaranteed. To tell somebody they have no choice at eight weeks is to say you must give birth regardless of circumstances, even though a woman risks her own life to have a baby. again this position is just manifest cruelty. I was born at 32 weeks in the 80s and I almost didn't make it. I also have a physical disability for life. it's not just an unpopular position because it's extreme in some cases, but because its a position that doesn't conform to the harsh realities of real life or even try to grapple with those realities.

But really the whole point of that is to free up some of that old money that is locked up for generations by the super rich. It is also not without precedent. In Islam for example, people are required (if able) to donate zakat to help the poor and needy. That as I understand is 2.5% of net worth not just earned income per year.
