In many parts of the world, ICE will be outlawed by 2035. The only ev Toyota has is a parts bin compliance car whose wheels fall off. Tesla currently has model 3 as low as $42,990 BEFORE $7500 rebate. AFTER $7500 rebate that is $35,490.

Commodity prices could double during the time they worked through the backlog. It was DESIGNED to reduce demand. Even Elon said he was embarrassed over the high prices. They reduction in price was a return to previous levels and demand surged so much, a backlog has again been forming. Tesla has pricing power like you have never seen! Charlie, Tesla makes more EV's then BYD does, globally. The fact that BYD has such a large area for all it's production is not a good thing. BYD factories make way less cars then Tesla. The Tesla China factory will make 1 million cars this year. BYD's 6 factories made 1.8 million cars, EV and Hybrids, last year! That is 300k per factory. Tesla China made around 800k last year. BYD makes 10 times less net profit then Tesla, and they don't really compete with Tesla, the M3 does now compete with the Han, and people where cancelling their Han for a M3!!! All the other BYD cars are much lower then Tesla!! They need to stop the Hybrids and make BEV's ONLY!!!

@@mariajiao4855 but most of their factories are outside china and are planned to have higher capacities. the plant in germany and texas will be outputting the same numbers as the shanghai factory as they ramp up and beyond.

Not anymore. With two rounds of price cuts, plus incentives, and having to absorb the loss of subsidies, Tesla is hardly making any money on their cars in China. There is no avoiding the fact Tesla's lineup is getting stale in China, which is the most competitive auto market in the world and by far the most competitive EV market.
