I have considered making the investment. Some lots are less than 5k and I can get a 3/2 up for under 30k. Cash money then lease out make a nice profit after a couple of years. But then I think about the damage that was done to my parents first home when they decided to lease it and say forget it. And selling in not as profitable as leasing homes in these areas. So I guess that is the problem and why more investors don't try to get in there clean up the areas.

@LeftyStratPlayer4 жыл бұрын
To my fellow brothers and sisters. Please clean up and maintain your neighborhoods. A few gallons of primer, paint, and a couple boxes of trash bags don't cost that much. Plant grass, maintain your lawns, and cultivate those abandoned lots into neighborhood fruit/vegetable gardens. Don't accept existing in this hopelessly inferior and third-rate manner as being the norm. We have the potential to be far, far better than this.

Black people need to start putting their money together and start buying back their property. It’s too many youngsters out here claiming which hood that they are from. That same neighborhood will be there once they leave this earth. Instead of these stores owned by foreigners, there need to be more organic stores with fresh fruits, vegetables and even some juice bars in Black neighborhoods instead of those corner stores that sell unhealthy snacks and fried food plates with the foods that will destroy their insides slowly. Wish there were more Black people who would unite together and make this happen instead of hating on each other.

You're already getting your reparations to the tune of $822 billion+ a year, ( see this video if you want to see the numbers and data www.bitchute.com/video/lGpgvkf3THs ) courtesy of the White male taxpayer, who if it wasn't for said tax dollars you would be eating out of trash cans and garbage dumps, clothed in newspaper and sleeping in cardboard, coughing up blood from disease. Everything from Section 8, to welfare, to food stamps, to medicaid, to affirmative action, to minority credit and loans programs, you got it so good you all forgot what real oppression is like. All you people talking about how oppressed you are, like you were the ones getting hosed by water cannons and having K9s sicked on you in the 50s and 60s. Taking the credit for your ancestor's struggles like they're your own. Show me on your body the markings where your Master whipped you? Show me on your body where the KKK riding on horses with torches at night tried to l y n c h you? Ya'll trippin. Better get back to work on that Democrat plantation before Masters Pelosi and Schumer come by and see you slacking.

I’m from the state of New Hampshire and I am truly at a loss for words. What I would genuinely ask someone is.. do these places have … state workers? Like where is the state and why are they not doing their job? It is the state’s job to tear down abandoned houses. It is the states job to fix potholes, rebuild bridges and keep public property maintained etc. Why is that not being done in these places? I’m simply genuinely Curious. The snow we just got caused a pothole on my street and it was filled within 24 hours. Why is this not being done in these places?

These cities should hold the property owners responsible for the up keep on these houses and vacant lots. Most of them are probably bank owned. If they don't do it then the city comes in and maintains it at the owners expense. Also the ones that are occupied the residents should have to clean up around them. It doesn't cost anything to pick you the garbage in your yard. That has nothing to do with being poor.

Originally from New Orleans, but have lived in Baton Rouge since 1996. These areas of Baton Rouge aren't great, but not as bad as some areas of of NOLA. These areas don't represent the city, there are many nicer areas in Baton Rouge as well. I can't comment on Jackson because I've never been there, but I think the Baton Rouge footage is better than Jackson. Every city has good and bad areas, this can be found anywhere.

A large number of these homes are abandoned. The mayor and council of Jackson have driven up the taxes and cost of living to be much higher than it should be. The city’s police department is corrupt and never gets anything done. At one point just a few years ago the Governor almost took the city over to help it, but the mayor did a few extra things and kept his job. Many of the people in Jackson are fleeing, only the wealthy who can afford private security are staying and the poor who literally can’t escape because they don’t have enough money to get anywhere. I love Jackson, it’s just a short drive from my home, and I love getting to go into the city and help the people. I want to see the best for the city and it’s people.
