The world shall know the heat of the anglo-celtic fighting man once more. Sister rebels forever. Fun fact 84 Aussie sailors abandoned ship in Florida to join the CSA navy.

1982 I was with my girlfriend at a small public college in Washington state, CWU. CDB was playing that night and we had nose bleed tickets. At noon we walked by the CDB equipment bus and I noticed the band members unloading and setting up the stage. I made a comment to Taz, the piano player that it must suck that Charlie does not pay you enough, that you have to unload and set up your stage. Taz said the stage crew didn’t show and asked if we would help. We did of course and had the best time with the guys. Taz saw our tickets, laughed, and gave us front row, center stage seats. During the concert Charlie gave my girlfriend his pick. RIP Taz and Charlie.

Isn't it interesting that this song offended NONE of us growing up? The white kids, the black kids, the Mexican kids, we ALL dug CDB and we danced our asses off to this tune. We're too old now to do much but shuffle, but we still know good music when it' played.

Yeah he was one of them true outlawed trucountry traditionalist play things by his rules which is important. Even though after he found Christianity and was saved and cleaned up he never lost his edge he just kind of got a little softer and his older age but if it ever came to standing up for the little guy he was always want it wasn't afraid to step to you if the occasion called for it. He never lost his edge. What he is a representative of the. Country heritage years and centuries ago from bluegrass / Appalachian mountains folk music. This adherence to traditionalism from bluegrass. Certainly is not as honored by country music industry As say back when Jerry Reid Waylon Willie and the boys. Merle haggard but every generation pushed the boundaries of acceptability in their day Daring to go outside and then bring it back to the collective touchstone that is country music Just cuz corporate execs of the country music industry respectively don't necessarily try to infuse these what they believe to be antiquated stylings I would tell you fear not for there are legions of excellent young bluegrass pickers and there is a revival that has been strong and is picking up steam for like twenty odd years there's whole bluegrass camps and I'm telling you it's it ain't over just cuz an industry is out of touch with what's the the heartland true sound of country don't mean a lick it's just this this crop didn't have it then I would say unfortunately for them it's a greater shame that you say you have this back line of great talent up there but then the industry guy say no we got a dumb it down and make it not an infusion of creativity it's a real shame but it's not our shame it's the industry's shame

One of the greatest fusion jam bands of all time. And everyone thought they were exclusively listening to southern or country music. Yeah it may have been southern/country lyrics. Though right here in this vid alone we have dixieland, western swing, jazz and even some rock n roll behind the vocals.
@waynelalonde47782 жыл бұрын
This was a once in a lifetime deal, never will country music ever have a replacement that will ever rival this. No synthesizer, beat boards, auto tunes, voice inhancments, real instruments played by real musicians, playing real music. Tunes today dressed and groomed amended pasted together fake as plastic poop. By that standard anybody with a mouth could make it, but this is a rare time when you had to put in the work and talent to cook like this.

Then he walked back out with the fiddle and did another hour and a half and the place went completely nuts. The band was so tight it was like they had played together since birth.

Daniels factually bristled at more nefarious interpretations of what the "it" was. When the Ku Klux Klan used the song as background music for radio commercials for a 1975 rally in Louisiana, Daniels told Billboard, "I'm damn proud of the South, but I sure as hell am not proud of the Ku Klux Klan. I wrote the song about the land I love and my brothers. It was not written to promote hate groups."[3][4]
