When you are old you are suppose to let the young take up space. Either you: buy it in a larger size-and if need be alter it so it fits better (or get someone to do it for you), don't buy it and get something else, lose the weight in whatever problem area you have, or just be confident in your body and wear it anyway if you have just one issue. The entire episode was about her trying to lose the weight, realizing it wasn't as easy as it was when she was younger and finally understanding that she could accept herself as she was. As for the salesperson, I think even if she had said something before walking away, Charlotte still would have gotten mad. I remember Charlotte's ballerina wardrobe from Sex and the city and that black and pink dress wasn't it. Even her friend said the woman had done nothing wrong.

But guess what: I don't try to wear tight t-shirts like I could in my 20's nor freak out upon realizing it. Charlotte looks great for her age (those legs and butt are any real man's treasure), her freaking out like this is sad and actually forced (she was worried about her tighs in the series, not her belly). I actually know a 47 year old mom with adult daughters who looks body wise very similar to Kristin Davis: down to the extended belly, and still she's way hotter than most 20 year olds around (she hits the gym every day in the morning around my time there, obviously decades of discipline and self control have paid off). Charlotte knows that as well, should act like it (it's not like Harry's growing younger or taller or slender or regrowing a full mane of hair).

Well, as a fashion designer I must say, dress according to your age and character! maybe Charlotte needs to be more comfortable with her age not the dress nor her body! clothes are out there to make you look more beautiful and more comfortable. you don't like it, don't buy it! try something else. A sales person was totally wrong. Charlotte didn't ask for a different style, she was asking for reassurance. A professional sales assistant would have known what to say. And Charlotte's friend was as bad as the sales person. The dress is very Charlotte. And a bit of tummy didn't ruin anything.
