And some women don't WANT a husband, OR kids, and that's fine. It doesn't need to be tragic.

Of course but this scene is for the ones who do. Ask anyone who has battled with fertility and wants to be a parent. Its heartbreaking.

i'm one of those women. i'd love to have a partner to share love and life with, but i dont want the pressure of permanence that marriage brings. i also have NEVER liked kids- even when i was a kid. i'm getting to an age where friends/acquaintances see me single at events and have a million questions about my relationship status. i'm not sure what it is. i almost wonder if it is to make themselves feel better about having a romantic relationship- with all its flaws and all. maybe they are the type that fears leaving who they are with because what if there is no one else?
@ternitamas6 жыл бұрын
sydandtaytum same here, I'm a guy, but lately it got so annoying going out with friends that are married, they treat me as a rare alien from another galaxy, and sometimes give me the "look" for not following the expected/traditional way society dictates...
@koolaidman62515 жыл бұрын
It was tragic like 50 years ago, cuz you'd be rejected by society and live a lonely sad life. But now women and men can have full lives without a partner or kids. It's just a choice.

This scene is extremely relevant. Even today. In general aspects of life. Not just romance or dating. When you say the truth or something that goes against the normative views or against the lovey dovey bed of roses super optimistic nonsensical BS speoppe throw at you, you will see people tuning out. Their facial expressions change, as if the rotating machinary known as the brain inside their head has come to a halt, the brain simply can't process what they are hearing. Error message. As soon as Miranda changed the topic to how long they had been married for, you saw the friend get back on track. The machinary started working again. Rebooted.

I'd never understand women who think you need a lover and kids to be happy... To me it sounds like an excuse to feel young again, trap a man, have a reason to slow down and not work.... I feel the same way in a happy relationship as i do on my own, i can't stand children and the thought of them ruining my entertaining life scares me.... I wanna travel, i wanna go on vacay, i wanna go shopping and sleep for 10 hours a night... not cook, scream and talk to children all day.
@Liat844 жыл бұрын
Brainey001, you're wrong. Woman who want to have kids , settle down and have a spouse, not trying to stay young. Just want to full feel herself as a mother. It's nature. Woman who'll want to stay young forever, wouldn't get pregnant . the pregnancy itself change the woman's body ,she become fat, with lot off weight , have pains while sitting and walking.. It's hard but when the baby is coming, it become everything to his mother. I see that you're still young. I hope one day you'll meet the perfect girl , who will change everything you believed before her, and you guys than settle down with charming children, beautiful home and great marriage life.

@@Liat84 This fulfilment bullshit. If that worked there surely would be more peace and happiness in the world? Why do so many ppl with kids turn into nightmares who raise brats? The women with kids are the least fulfilled I know, and bitchy and whiny to single women. The fulfilled ones are few and far between.
@Liat843 жыл бұрын
@@lizziebkennedy7505 maybe in your point of view woman can't fulfill herself with children and marriage. Maybe you still don't want to have kids and want to be single . I don't know. I speak from my personal point of view, I always wanted to be a mother, from my late 20's, and i worked hard on myself and improve myself everyday to become more independent, to have my own job, to rent a place i call it home, to know how to clean and arrange this place, to cook better. To take care of my 🐈. I think it's important . Then I'v meet a guy and we move out together. We both in our late 30's. I'm 36. In our country people say: " kids are happiness". Maybe it's cultural issue. Even if you say now that kids are hassle and hard to raise, i think you should pay attention to your biologic clock- woman are more fertilize in there 20's, 25 is the earliest age to get pregnant, and after 30 you have only until 37 to get pregnant. A soon you get close to your 40's, your fertility becomes much lower . You should think about it . Even if you saying you don't want a kids. The day you'll want them it could be late . Liat, Israel .

@thevampirefrog065 жыл бұрын
It might be that she doesn't want them and is fed up with everyone asking, but I think either she wants kids but is having trouble conceiving (or adopting), or else her husband doesn't want them. She falters a smidge before putting on a bright smile and going off on diapers because she doesn't want to admit that it might not happen.
@bebop25235 жыл бұрын
She does want them but for some reason can’t have them so she’s joking about it to hide her pain. If she actually didn’t want them she wouldn’t be going on and on like that- she’s overcompensating. Her “comedy routine” for her “sore spot.” So Miranda laughs “because it was kind,” meaning she’s playing along because she doesn’t want her friend to know that Miranda can see through her defense mechanisms.
