To us, it is clear none one examples are authentic and the entire auction like so many from Charlotte's are nothing more than knock-offs masquerading as legitimate antiques from old collections.

Great job for the truth about buying and selling. I'm an low end picker and your team has done a lot to help me step up my game. Always looking forward to your next video. And I have found three pieces out of maybe a thousand to fifteen hundred pieces that I have come across. I will send you pictures of those three pieces later today. Another tell. If you Google the addresses they are generally private houses. Lots “sold” are hammered to “competing bid.” This indicates LiveAuctioneers is being played. There was no auction room in which direct bids to the house could actually be made. Also, if you watch the auctions, the imagined frantic bidding tries to look like a feeding frenzy, no doubt hoping to lure some mark.

Mr. Combs advises to 'take my opinion for what it's worth'. Well it seems to be worth an awful lot since much of what is offered for sale would be good for a film studio prop warehouse for making historical dramas where the cameras don't focus on the objects too closely. Looks to me like the 'opinion' in question is worth gold.

very interesting whats more interesting to me is the people MAKING the fakes you should report this to live auctioneers, i understand it cant be on them to review the authenticity of pieces but they should review the authenticity of the reviews left on the sellers page... they are quite clearly fake reviews

Peter do you know of another place has similar auctions like this one? An art dealer in China told me that a place in US do nothing but fakes, and he has a few close fellows involved in supplying, but does not want to reveal the name though.

Some collectors are obstinate dreamers and nothing will change their minds. I'd say there's a market for these things, even if they are obvious fakes to most. If people don't want to be saved there's no point trying to help them.

these are not even good fakes--there are already much better fakes, for example some are using genuine old broken 'bottoms' and merge fake stuff on top of them, so the mark and foot rims are of period and genuine...
