I don't care WHO you are, you DO NOT get to tell a dying person they can't request the songs they want at their own funeral! Poor person definitely needs better friends/family. EDIT: I took care of both my parents in their home when each of them was dying. I literally had my hand in my father's mouth when he took his final breath. (was cleaning it out with a toothette after he'd been unconscious for a week, we had hospice assistance but you know that's not full time round the clock help). It was an honor to care for each of them in their last months when cancer won the fight. My sister and I played lots of music, stuff they loved and stuff we loved, and I still get choked up when I listen to certain songs, but it's a bittersweet thing now. When you understand life is finite and you do your best to honor those who are in the dying process, that's all that really matters. We need to make the most of the time we have with those we love. I'd give back every darn cent I got from my mom's death (my father didn't have anything) if it meant I could get each of them back just for a few days and so they could meet my son.

The funeral story: While not someone I actually knew, I watched a documentary about a guy with a really rare, intense genetic condition that he knew was going to kill him. He'd reached a point where he knew his end was coming, so the film showed him planning his own funeral. He did all sorts of funny stuff, like engraving a can of beans on his casket for no reason other than to make people say, "What's the can of beans for?" and be puzzled during the whole service. He chose to have the funeral end by playing Queen's Don't Stop Me Now. Far from ruining the song, it became one of my favorites. To this day, when I hear it, I smile and think of that guy and his awesome sense of humor in the face of his own death. I wish the person with cancer didn't find out in their final months that their friends are giant turds.
@TheBaumcm Жыл бұрын
A forecasted death unfortunately has the habit of doing that just as unexpected deaths can make people pretend. My dad, who was well known for wearing overalls pretty much his entire life when he wasn’t at work or wearing a uniform, said he wanted to be buried in them. The open casket was just for friends and family so when my mom tried to override it, I put my foot down and told her that I didn’t care if he was joking, this is what he said he wanted and this is how it’s going down. I won and she didn’t talk to me for a couple of weeks. When my brother passed unexpectedly, a lot of family who had not been the best to him were crying about how much they missed him and how wonderful he was (he absolutely was the best human I have ever known). Thankfully, those who have died don’t have to live through that part.

This woman is going to have favoritism forever and is going to make this poor little girl's life a living hell and then probably claim that she's the victim that it's all this little girl's fault not hers.. It breaks my heart just thinking this woman is in that little girl's life, I mean she even said or we could even find a good family for her! She has a father! It’s a different relationship than I have with my daughter since they have a mom, but there is nothing I wouldn’t do for those two girls. They know they can count on me for anything. Personally I think it depends on on what's being asked. For example, if the bride and groom request that it's an adult wedding, I think it's reasonable to not bring kids. If they ask for formal attire, i think it's reasonable not to show up in a halter top or shorts. Once they ask for donations or for people to wear specific articles (especially if it's more than like 5 bucks) I think it's doing way too much.

@weasley2o133 жыл бұрын
I'm really scared for the little girl with the step mother. You forgot to read the part where the woman said that the girl looks just like her mom and she does not approve of that because her husband is always thinking of his dead wife when looking at his daughter. If the girl looks that much like her mom now, she's going to look more and more like her as she grows up, and there will come a day when she's old enough to understand her step mother's grudge against her. That's one of the most dangerous and toxic things for a teenager because when your mother doesn't approve of you and it doesn't matter if she's your biological mother or not, the girl could potentially hurt herself to get that approval and that has to be prevented NOW. I don't know if her mother's hate towards her would ever escalate to actual abuse which makes sense since she would "try to protect" her biological daughter, but emotional abuse is just as dangerous. And from the way she said 'get rid of his daughter' I'm really not comfortable with letting this go. My mother is psychotic and abusive and I have to say she sounds alot like this woman right there. If anyone has a followup or more details about this story please share, I don't like this.

To many people, The Bare Necessities song is happy for them. But to some, it's sad or even makes them angry. All for varying reasons - it all depends on a person's * personal * experience with the song. Re: tip jar post, I can't imagine thinking a hospitality employee's tips are yours too! I was a bartender at a VFW. We had a wedding in our hall where the cost of the bartender is included. So I spent time setting it up (and breaking it down later) and sat there through the entire wedding and reception, around 7 hours, and didn't serve a single drink besides water. Not even a soda. I also couldn't leave. Got paid $25 for the day and the couple tipped me with a votive candle holder at the end. Service employees earn those tips one way or another, believe me.
@andrewthezeppo3 жыл бұрын
You should be way more upset with your boss than the couple to be honest. If bartender services are included in the venue then the couple doesn't really have any obligation to give you anything but your boss should be paying you regular wages. When I served we got paid a high hourly rate for events because it was assumed we would be making far less in tips. We made $15 an hour for events and that was ten years ago.
@faeriefire783 жыл бұрын
I agree, but I wasn't really upset with the couple, it just really sucked. The problem was that I worked at a private veteran's club that relies on volunteers, who in turn rely on tips, and this turned out to be a teetotaler wedding with non-alcoholic drinks catered in. The $25 was a courtesy. It's an oddball setup. I worded it badly, but my point was that service people do more than some think and some days really get the short end of the stick. The bride in the story thinking she should get the tips from someone else's labor is messed up.

You'll be fine ^^ Just remember the most important thing about weddings: You want to share it with your loved ones. It's not about having a big show or anything. It's about coming together and having a beautiful day. Perfectly planned weddings don't have to lead to perfect weddings, a little chaos is absolutely okay. When my sister got married, there was a bit of planning, but some happened without the bride and groom involved, because it was supposed to surprise them. And it worked really well. My father prepared little photo books for all the guests and they needed a picture from the actual day or the married couple. So the photographer got involved and organized a good picture he took right after the ceremony and dad printed it out while other of us glued it into the book on the last page. My sister and her spouse didn't even realize us missing, because we took turns at preparing the books ^^ It was a perfect day for my sister, she felt special and had everyone around her. Her only request to guests was to wear something (no matter how small) pink on them to connect to her theme color.

Congratulations and best wishes! My husband and I did pretty much everything in the last 3 months before our wedding. Including but not limited to finding my dress/his suit, getting our venue (a local state park), arranging the reception location (bar where we had our first kiss), and even inviting our guests. The one thing I wish we did differently was invite our guests earlier, as some people couldn't make it due to the last minute notice. As long as you're willing to be flexible with people, and remember that your wedding day is about celebrating your love with the people you love, I don't think you'll be a bridezilla. And one more thing, take a moment to look around your reception with your spouse. It's rare that so many people you love are all in one place. Good luck with your planning!

The creature that wants her husband to "get rid " of his child, remembered me the time when my ex after moving in to my house,he remembered that he is allergic to cats. He never told me that before,he never had any problems before. He had spent lots of time in my house before, sometimes for 4 consecutive days. NEVER HAD ANY KIND OF ALLERGIES. After he moved in,after a week or so he TOLD me that he doesn't like so much my cats,and maybe is better to get rid of them!!! And also he thinks he is allergic to them because he doesn't feel so good around them!! We started arguing until he said: you have to choose between ME and the cats!!! Of course...I helped him pack his stuff😂. Next day I found a stray kitten and of course me and my cats adopted the kitten and made a big announcement.

@Brad1980 by having looked into the topic both philosophically and scientifically. The basic rundown is this: - philosophically: a) there are competing prayers and outright opposing prayers, b) if there was a god then what is wished for is either their will and will be done or isn't and then see point a - scientifically: experiments show that prayer doesn't work (unless as meditation, in which case it works as meditation that benefits the one doing the praying, but that still has no effect on the person being prayed for). In cases where the person was informed they were being prayed for AND they were religious, results were mixed, with some drawing hope, with their stress hormones reducing and them healing, while others got more stressed over now having to perform by healing to help prove their religion and got worse. So yeah, your praying for them will do nothing for either the stepmom or the stepdaughter

The weird colored one for the dance and then the $1000 for the wedding itself. Who thinks that their guests want to invest in 2 outfits for a wedding?! Listening to these, and other ones I've read, I'm beginning to wonder if people have lost their ever loving minds!!! Thank you for the videos Charlotte, I really enjoy them. I also enjoy when you sing. I was wondering if you might update the song you sing at the end of the video? This is similar to what my hubby and I did. We got married on a Thursday by the mayor of the town we live in, then had a 'reception' on the following Saturday at the bar/restaurant I worked at. The owners of the bar let us have the reception for free, as long as we were out and mostly cleaned up before they opened at 7pm. The bartender offered his services for tips only as a wedding gift to us. One of my best friends and fellow DJs did the music for nothing and we also had some karaoke! Between the cook, myself and my mother-in-law, we catered the wedding ourselves. Instead of a fancy tiered cake, we bought a sheet cake from a grocery store and cupcakes in the same color, just in case we ran out of dessert. The bar also provided champagne. I borrowed my gown from my matron of honor and hubby rented a tux. A hairdresser friend did my hair and makeup for only $20 and it was fabulous. All in all, including food, favors, decor, and everything else, our wedding cost under $600. And we are still happily married 13 years later (together for 15 years). My first wedding cost a fortune and we were divorced in 2 years. So I totally agree with the 'the more it costs, the quicker the divorce' theory lol.
@danielleking2623 жыл бұрын
@@justymenow1260 I was trying to think of WHY this theory seems to be true, and it's probably because the people getting married for less are more humble and don't need a ton of flashy / material things to make it feel like a special day, whereas other people might feel the need to throw over-the-top weddings to impress their guests and care more about showing off.
