When my sister died, the funeral home did a horrible job with her hair and makeup. She was fairly young and quite vain, so I came prepared with a comb and basic makeup. Once I fixed it, my 8 year old nephew commented that it helped him understand that was really his mom and not a "fake" (he was there when she died). Tough.

Lessons Charlotte taught me about planning my wedding. A) bridesmaids know and can do their own hair/makeup better than anyone else. B) give a color sample and let bridesmaids pick the dresses/formal wear they feel comfortable in. C) just be glad people show up sober and not in white.

Oh man. I was a bridesmaid for my brothers wedding (the only non-white bridesmaid). I walked to the makeup appointment with my concealer and foundation bc I did NOT want to look ashy and I knew this MUA did not have my colours. I wasn’t wrong. That's not a makeup artist. No real makeup artist would ever go to a job with multiple clients, and not have either foundations for all skin colors, or enough to make all skin colors. If she was in film like me, she would have been fired on the spot for not being prepared.

I feel sorry for you. Also I kinda feel you. I am white - very pale and have dark pink lips. I used to work in showbiz, those "professional" make up artists not even once had foundation in my colour. I always had to make the make-up on my own, before the shoots (sometimes they did my eyes) or at least bring my foundation and concealer with me, to not look like I had an accident with tanning balm. Their products were orange on me. Also their lipsticks couldn't cover my natural lip colour. Some of them dared to suggest I should spend more time on the sun or that I am dehydrated, don't take proper care of myself or that I have some health issues... Anyway thanks to so many mishaps I've learned how to put a makeup that looks flawless for 18 hours without retouch 😂 and I don't give a shit about passive-aggressive comments anymore. Back when I was little, my mom was experimenting with fake eyelashes (early 80's), and she used a really strong glue, and part of her eyelash wasn't connected and it came down into her lower lashes. She tried to fix it and wound up gluing her eye shut! She called my dad (an MD) and he had to drive her to the emergency room. EVERY nurse and doctor in the ER were hysterically laughing the entire time. Mom lost most of her real eyelashes and some of her dignity on that day. She still used false eyelashes after that, but with much weaker glue. One year I found a false eyelash cooked into the Thanksgiving turkey! Needless to say, I DON'T mess around with those!

I think too many times people put themselves out there in a "look" assuming they'll garner praise. In fact, the cold, cruel, real world inevitably throws ice water in their faces. You're doing exactly what they invite: giving a real opinion. Folks need to realize that the grown-up world isn't always warm and cuddly. That being said, I can't help wondering if some of these aren't actually artistic expressions as opposed to something intended for real-life wear. Another great video, Charlotte!

They were talking about how in the first like two seasons of supernatural they had to wear this really thick makeup, as men, like foundation, for the cameras. Because otherwise it didn’t cover certain colors. And they arrived at an airport to go do these interviews in LA and they asked for a room to save several hours of travel and they basically at the airport hotel person assume they were gay cause of the thick makeup they wore for the lights. They said after that year they didn’t have to wear makeup like that because the new cameras covered like more color spectrum? This isn’t my area

yeah i worked a while as theatrical makeup artist team for tv, there's a lot to consider. the older technology was easily to overexposure the film so there're a lot of color grading and sketch for each actors, we had to put a lot of base up to the point it looks like mask and reddish or else it won't show on camera. especially for film, airbrush makeup is heck thick it feels like paint on face. however camera for tv developing every time which it got better each time, so nowadays it got 'more' natural. depending on the set lightning it's really matter, whether it's indoor or outdoor, color grading, ambience, etc. they have face smoothing tech too now and makeup technique also developing so it's more convenient to do the makeup.

I was in Walmart once (I know, what was I thinking?) and saw this woman with hair curlers still in her hair and she had makeup on like Mimi from The Drew Carey Show... You should do a people of Walmart video.

I love the fact that Charlotte doesn't wear a bunch of makeup. Shes embracing herself without the need to cover anything.😊

Girl, this is why I always do my own makeup for shoots. I've had one makeup artist actually do my eyebrows right. I know my face better than anyone else. I'd rather take the time to do it myself.

With the exception of lipstick, I absolutely hate how I look with makeup on. I hate myself with eyeliner, I hate how my eyebrows look when filled in, and I hate myself with eyeshadow. On top of that, I'm allergic to most foundations which is annoying cause I'm allergic to the only brands that make foundation pale enough for me. Relating to that, my only true makeup fail story comes from the first time I ever wore makeup for a dance when I was in grade Nine. My also pale mother thought we were close enough in skin tone I could wear her foundation which was already very light in colour... Yeah it was orange on me and it turns out I need to wear foundation that is practically white paint in a bottle and few makeup brands, as previously mentioned, actually make a colour pale enough for me. It's kinda annoying cause I wouldn't mind finding one that's pale enough that I am not allergic to that I can wear when I have to wear makeup for formal events that I don't have a choice against it. If I'm gonna wear something against my will, it would be nice to not have to deal with the skin on my face constantly in a burning itch...

I was a bridesmaid for a friend who made us pay for everything, even getting our make up done when we could've easily done our own and saved $60. I was modelling at the time and was used to doing my own make up or having really great MUAs do it. This girl was not even close to great or adequate or even nobody will notice it's bad... Had to re-do everyone's myself and she wouldn't give us a refund for her terrible work. I wouldn't let my worst enemy walk around in that clown get up. Yikes!

"I'll try that..." Whispers: "No I won't....I won't try that" LOL I mean...concealer as lipstick?? Maybe in 1993. Just find yourself an actual nude lip color! Lol

I work with a small magazine, we get an hour or less per girl it’s really taking a toll on me not having the time to do my very best and I’m honestly embarrassed to send some of the girls out in the makeup the magazine picked for them

I saw a natural make up tutorial and she used like 6 different items. I was lik, "It takes a lot of make up to look that natural". Silly me all I do is moisturizer and lip gloss to look natural.

The loose false eyelash with the babies had me like... are they her babies? Did she just have twins? Because if so I'm forgiving the eyelash and I hope she still feels beautiful. The drastic body changes and hormone swings of pregnancy and birth are hard and I want all new moms to still feel beautiful. 🥺

Hopefully she’d be able to fix it with a little photoshop if she wants to, I think if I had that after getting ready for a nice photoshoot Id try and disguise it a bit, equally it’s pretty funny and maybe it reminds her of something so she might keep it as is

fun fact of the day . That "oh no, oh no, oh no nononono. ' song is actually a sped up recording of a part of a 1978 (think thats the year) aerosmith song. It's steven tyler.

@@marysab8865 what ever happened to, the night I gave it to you.....something like that. Can't think of the name, but I remember the words. It's an old song, not original Aerosmith.
