@kstormgeistgem4612 жыл бұрын
it may have been true when some of us were kids. but over the years, when (and indeed _if_ ) t-or-t has been shifted around a bit for various reasons. like most recently, it's been set up to be whatever night falls on a night that wasn't a school night. if 'ween fell on a monday, it would be on the sunday before. if it fell on a thursday, then they'd push the actual activity to the following friday. then it was mostly done away with completely and shifted into groups getting together to have a thing they call "trunk or treating". it's where a bunch of people gather in a participating parking lot (like if walmart's okay with it) to hand out the candy from the trunk of their vehicles. as if teaching kids that for one night a year, it's actually okay to take candy from strangers... now let us teach them that okay don't go to their _houses_ to get said candy, get it from their *Cars* ...??? _just to be clear, i have nothing against the activity. but i think if people are going to rag on about something, they need to think through their arguments before proposing a "solution" to what they think is the problem._

I myself as also part of the LGBT community tend to notice these small things and simply like to educate others. I actually didn’t know Demi has brain damage due to past medical issues but you may have to understand that it’s not entirely their fault. Most celebrities have stressful lives and that may well lead to overuse of drugs. It’s certainly happened to past celebrities who are no longer with us and all we can do to current celebrities is to perhaps put ourselves in their shoes and try to understand. I hope this comment helped enlighten a few things. Have a good day 😁

Yep. It wasn't that way when I was a kid, but nearly everywhere in the US now, trick-or-treating times are usually set up by the local city government, and are often on a Saturday or Sunday before Halloween, and typically in the afternoon. Trick-or-treating when it's still light out kinda ruins the spirit of things, as far as I'm concerned, but I know it's done partially for safety reasons (and also of course for the convenience of the parents, children, and homeowners who hand out treats).

In some of the northern states in the US, they do trick or treating on a different night than Halloween. Usually because of weather or to designate it to be on a weekend. At least when I was young and lived up there they did.

Also there is a chance like... They are immigrant coming from a country where Halloween isn't a thing. I live in such a country. Of course it's pushed here so stores can sell more crap and of it always makes great party theme. Thank f kids haven't started trick and treating here but stick with the traditional easter witch candy collecting
@meghanschuler47393 жыл бұрын
In fairness the trick-or-treating thing might be because in a lot of states or cities they change the day to like a weekend day like a Friday or Saturday so that kids get enough sleep at night. It wasn't like that when I was a doing it but it did start to change when my sister was and she and I are 7 years apart
@marythewinter3 жыл бұрын
I was about to say that! Some neighbourhoods have tours as well, so it will be done at like 8 pm, no more knocking and you have a great evening as well! Or sometimes if it's on a Sunday (like this year) they change it to Saturday because of Sunday is a restday.
@meghanschuler47393 жыл бұрын
@@marythewinter exactly. Wait r u British? Just a guess bc we drop the ou here. If so, r u still there? Is this everywhere except Canada, or maybe she's just out of the loop. Idk. Weird though, I live in tucson az, and doing it here is like unheard of basically. Every other state and city it was a big deal, here if I see a kid I'm more surprised than not. And this is the city that does a huge day of the dead party on the 1st.

Every year on thanksgiving weekend people from all around come, we get to celebrate with our local indigenous communities, camp, somehow cook turkeys while camping, we have a pumpkin carving contest, people decorate their camps sites in Halloween theme, and all the kids get dressed up for some campground trick or treating! Even the workers come prepared for the celebration!! Its honestly the best celebration traditions i have gotten to witness and be a part of, putting the chaos aside, so much love and unity from all kinds, even the wildlife!! ❤
