CHARM SQUARE BAG! A simple bag made from five 5" charms OR five 10" squares plus cording or ribbon.

This adorable little bag is easy to make with just five squares of fabric! The little bag is made with 5" squares or "charm" squares. It's perfect for gift giving - pop in a gift card and some of the "good" chocolates to treat a friend right OR fill it with some spools of thread and some new machine needles for your quilting buddies!
Our easy to follow tutorial takes you through all the steps with helpful hints along the way. Use Layer Cake squares 10" squares to make a bag that's a little bit bigger! It's the perfect size for some cookies in a zip lock or a BIG bag of M&M's for a friend. The possibilities are endless of what you can put in your bags!

Our shop is filled with finished quilts and smaller projects to provide plenty of inspiration. We are open Monday - Friday, 10am to 5pm, and 10am to 4pm on Saturday. We are in the central time zone.

Thanks so much for this tutorial. Had a number of charm squares from different charm packs and had fun mixing and matching colors. The first bag I made I forgot to box the corners, but it’s fine. Someone may want it flat for their purse or luggage. Appreciate another idea for sewing!❤️

That is a Lot of work for bags that kids care nothing about, that will end up under a bed, then in the trash. Save yourself the trouble, Buy plastic goodie bags at the dollar store, and make these for adults who will appreciate them (even that’s a stretch), or make them for yourself, or loved ones, who will love them.

@Life Happens Even though your comment is a little snarky, you made me laugh. Just last night, I was thinking that I could crochet some little bags for my three grandchildren and put candy in them. This was followed by a reality check. They would be a lot of work and not appreciated. And I'm not being critical of my grandchildren...that's how kids are. They are cute bags though, and I'll enjoy making one for the right person.
