When my Aunt Dottie was Mike Douglas's Liason between Group W and Westinghouse my Aunt introduced my Mom and I to her when she was Mikes Cohost for the week and my Mom saaid come over to our house for Dinner one night and she said will you have Spagetti and my mom said yes and Charro said I'll be there. My Mom said how about Thursday night and Charro came over to Runnemede and ate dinner with my family. We were the most popular family on the block and I just met Charro again last year before The Covid and she still remembered. She had given me one of her guitars signed and it will always be one of my great treasures.

@@davidwesley2525 actually it's ditzy. But I understood your point, like I assume you understood mine. But, according to the Oxford dictionary, dizzy can also mean silly, or scatter brained. For example, "A dizzy blonde". So I am correct in using dizzy. But, if you'd be happier if I used "ditzy", so be it. No skin off my apple. 🤷‍♂️

So if you get the chance to see Charo, DO IT! Charo is an old school celebrity. By that, I mean that she truly loves her fans. Charo is a beautiful person inside and out, and that's from meeting her up close. If you are able to see her during her soundcheck, she will encourage the people watching her to dance, show their love, and just party! I was in the group of people who were watching the soundcheck performance during her last visit to The Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun Casino, and it was such a treat to have her there. She performed a few songs specifically for us, including Buster Poindexter's "Hot, Hot, Hot" and the one in this video. She is an absolute master of the guitar, right up there with Prince. So many people don't realize how much artistry Charo displays on a consistent basis, but she's been doing this for decades, and Charo is in my eyes an international treasure. When she came up to us, I looked around to make sure my bosses weren't there, then I screamed "I love you, Charo!" She took that as her cue to come over and dance with some of us! She has such a beautiful spirit, I really do just love her. I also think of Charo as a true role model for just getting through life. She's definitely a real trooper. God bless Charo.

hubby & ii got to see charro back in 1978 in las vegas at a variety show."the michael douglas show" along with anne heche & anne bancroft & her husband...an asshole of a husband (can't remember his name). i remember michael douglas asked her how she stayed so young looking and beautiful. and she said ''because i stay out of z keechin. ladies, never go into z keechin. it will ruin your makeup & your clothes and you will look & smell old!!". i laughed so hard because i could tell she was serious. then they lowered the lights & she played the 'flamenco" guitar. within a few minutes i was in tears. it was so beautiful. she is kind of like DOLLY. she can look cheap and be the most talented & gifted person in the room!! i hope she writes her biography someday!...

Her mother wanted her to study at Segovia's school when she was young. But when Segovia heard her play, decided he should teach her himself, she was so good. She wasn't tge "hoochie coochy" celebrity until years later. Saw her on Johnny Carson Show. He had her on several times, she was so smart and fun crowd loved her. But she continued playing guitar, especially her old red colored one. I didn't know she had that talent till longer after seeing her on the Tonight Show and in some comedy skits on other shows. She is so talented and so sweet, smart. Her son seems to have been raised well, too. Nice family. Sadly lost her husband a few years ago. Also listen to Roy Clark play Malaguena; the video with him wearing gold glittery shirt. He was also incredible. Now deceased, but he had been able to play many instruments at a master level. I think he was self taught.

I remember trying to buy a CD of her, could listen to her 24/7, but no one has it, why? I saw Yanni in concert, they have him, but don't have her, it still amazes me that men are still projected for money, but women are dismissed, she is one of the most talented flamingo guitarists in our lifetime!!
